Hey y'all. My prom is next weekend and I'm extremely excited. Well, about a month or two ago, I got a letter saying I was accepted into this Cinderella's Closet thing. What's that you may? It was started by a woman who helps teenage girls who can't afford a prom dress based off of income. It was wonderful.

I went last night and felt so awkward being pampered but I found the perfect dress, shoes, and jewelry.

My dress is so Victorian and it fits the "Roaring 20's" theme. Caije, my boyfriend and date, is getting a tie to match (I was half tempted to find a pink dress that way :p )

The lady in this picture was my Fairy Godmother. Her name is Page. She was so kind and sweet and made this an amazing experience for me.

Prom was amazing. The decorations were pretty cheesy due to my class (and don't get me started on my distaste for prom king and queen) but getting to spend my entire night with my love was worth it all. We danced, we kissed, we talked, I met up with some people I use to know and some I haven't talked to in a long time. It was wonderful.

Very pretty dress!

The school my daughter goes to has something like what you are talking about. If they trade in their prom dress from the year before, they pay $10 if not then they pay $20. And they have tuxes for guys for the same deal.

I suppose this year will be my daughter's "prom of her dream" since she no longer lives with me. She didn't want me to go with her last year to help pick out her prom dress but I went anyway, which in the end she was glad of. I'd give anything to be able to go with her to pick a dress out again but she's chosen a life without her family over a friend & that friend's mother. ouf
