Little concerned about the 'feast of the lily of the Valley' bit.  I believe the flower is absolutely poisonous, or at least turns any water the cut stems are kept in poisonous.

Perhaps the original word was 'fete' (with accents I can't type) which should translate to celebration or party?

Irregardless, I'd be interested if anyone has any information on how the Lily of The Valley relates to May Day historically, symbolically or other if anyone is willing to type it up (or redirect me to a reliable source that is not a wiki!)

I think the word "feast" can actually mean both a large meal and a celebration/holiday/party in general. Although I admit that "feast of the lily of the Valley" sounds kinda awkward, but I'm not a native English speaker, so what do I know really :P
