Bloodsy, promises are meant to be broken. I know that doesn't sound right at all, but that's what I've learned. People do not have a control over their lives and especially not during high school or college. I think that you two shouldn't have made that promise anyway and now that you did, I don't think you should be sticking to them.

Now that been said, I do not think that a long distance relationship would work for you two. These are stressful and draining. And especially when you're still in the beginning of your lives and were only together for a few months before the whole thing, it will be poisonous.

What I do think however is you really should be friends. Forget those promises. You can't fullfill them as painful as that sounds. You two have families that are responsible for you. You also have busy lives to lead with school and/or college.

Really sorry if it sounds cold again. That's just what I've learned and had a feeling I should say it.

He's not going to college was the whole reason it was made. He's stubborn. Wants to be a mechanic and that's it. He has nothing for him in Wisconsin and he can't stand his family. He'd rather leave.

146 even with all that. He doesn't have full control of his life yet. And would be unwise to do it anyways. That promise is empty in my opinion. I'm sure he meant it but he might not be able to fulfill it. Try to forgive him. Would make it easier on both of you.

I'm not forgiving. It hurt a little too much right since he knew what that meant to me. He swears he'll fulfill it now but I honestly don't care if he does. He could stay in Wisconsin for all I care. He has a crappy life ahead of him.

You guys made a promise, and I think no matter what, that should not be broken. I understand why you wouldn't forgive him.
However, I see her point. You two are young and can't do much. You want to get out but you have responsibilities to keep. So does he. As much as he hates it he doesn't have much of a choice but to stay there right now.
We don't know what's going to happen in the future. Making promises that go so far into the future are just waiting to be broken.

That's why it's the only ones we made that mattered to me. Nothing else matter because the future is uncertain. He knows my opinion in the future. He asked for forgiveness, a second chance. I wouldn't give it to him because he'll get upset and do the same thing over again in the future and I wasn't getting hurt again. It's why my walls are up.

You need a lesson on forgiveness. Now I'm not saying you should forgive him right away, but you said a month ago. You should at least start thinking to forgive him.
