It's my first day at FestiFeerik! Thanks to uncle Fred, I got a job as a salesperson, and I can't wait to get started. Okay, I'll admit that when I asked him if he could help me out with a job this summer, I wasn't expecting it to be in a party supply store. Working in a boutique? Sure. Surrounded by corny hats and creepy clown costumes? Not my thing! But I do want to see how it is anyways, and I feel like I owe it to uncle Fred. I'm not sure about my outfit. But it's actually really nice, we have all sorts of supplies for sale! My creative side wakes up as soon as I catch sight of all the colored papers, pretty tableware, all the accessories. I really want to organize something, prepare great decorations, set a mood and see happy faces all around!

Step 2: A new career?

I also enjoy talking to clients. Because they come here to plan for a happy event, most of them are already in a good mood, smiling and pleasant despite the stress that comes with organizing a party. Also, most of the stuff in the shop makes you smile! Of course, some customers are a little more difficult to handle. Some of them are never happy, you can't work fast enough for them, and some of them seem to have doubtful taste. I need to guide them towards an offer that works for them and that is a bit more fashionable, all while keeping a professional attitude. Daphne, my boss, has noticed my enthusiasm and my creativity. She asked me if I had ever considered becoming an event organizer. I had never thought about it, but I love the idea. I'm sure I just found my professional career! After setting up my small business "FeeDollz", I'm now an official event organizer and I'm ready to offer my services to the world!

Step 3: An almost perfect dinner

My first mission: save a dinner amongst friends that was headed towards disaster, if I had let the hostess plan the party around her tastes. She had imagined a pig-themed meal, with pink dishes, goulash to be eaten without any cutlery, snout-shaped glasses, and to entertain her guests, a game where you had to bite an apple from a trough with your hands behind your back. I had kept her idea of having a meal outside and had proposed a simple dinner in her garden, with a barbecue, lighting, and pretty furniture. She seemed enthusiastic, I hope everything is going to go well! I received a small thank-you letter from her, thanking me for my help and letting me know that everyone loved it and that she would recommend me to her friends! I'm so happy, my business is off to a great start! I can't wait to find out what my next mission is!

Step 4: Girls night

I really like my new job, I have a ton of ideas! There are so many events to celebrate in a lifetime. Bachelorette parties are one of my favorites to organize: a bit before a marriage, it's customary for the bride's friends to take her for a girls night out. It's a good excuse to party and release some pressure! Organizing this type of event can actually be more difficult than it may seem, because it's a bit easy to get too vulgar. You have to be careful when adapting the theme and the activities to the brides tastes, all while making sure everyone will have a good time. I suggested that the girls spend an evening with pop corn and movies, glamour, as well as a hairdresser, make-up artist, and fish-pedicures on the spot! I had to make sure that the owner of the fish-pedicure business was serious and that their norms were taken care of before informing my clients. Now we have all the things to turn the bride into a relaxed and happy princess, before putting her heels on and dancing late into the night!

Step 5: Baby Shower

I was contacted to organize a special baby shower! Usually, this party celebrates the coming of a new baby into a family. The mother-to-be receives gifts and usually reveals to her friends if she is expecting a boy or a girl. My clients would have liked to have their party this way, but they had a pretty bumpy pregnancy, so they decided to wait for their child to be born before partying with their friends. I prepared a cute party for them, with soft and tender colors, and lace and cakes. I even found an adorable vintage crib in a garage sale, which I redecorated! The new parents were so happy they sent me photos of the party to thank me. That's so kind, I'm touched! Hey, there's also a package in my mailbox. For me? There's a note on it: "Do not open before ???" That's too bad, the date was written in marker and it must have rubbed off; I can't read it! I tried opening the mysterious box, but I wasn't able to! Out of fear of breaking what's inside, it would be better if I wait a while.

Step 6: Sweet Sixteen

I received another one of those surprise gifts! I still can't open it or read it, like the first one. Oh well, it probably just means that my little business is going well! A family wants me for their eldest daughter's 16th birthday party. I greet them in my new living room to work out the project based on their tastes. The girl, Mary, loves her friends, stars, shiny things, and purple. I get to work out the rest. Perfect, I'm going to give her an unforgettable birthday, I can't wait! I found a fun and original spot for the party: an ice-skating rink! Everything's made out of wood, and there's even a little stage, as well as a beautiful outside patio. Thanks to my connections, I was able to get some very special guests to take care of the music, Mary is going to be amazed! For the cake, a baker is preparing a modern and delicious dessert, and I'm taking care of decorating with my new assistants: Johana, Leah, Katie, and Carina. We run left and right, making sure everything is ready, so that everything is working perfect and the guests don't notice a single problem, so that they don't have to stress about anything. Mary is so cute surrounded by all her friends, we're so happy to have prepared this beautiful party for her. That's my best reward!

Step 7: Cocktail Party

I'm organizing a little promotional evening for FeeDollz, all while giving a demonstration of my organizational talents. I'll be able to show my family and friends, as well as potential new clients, what I can do! I chose to hold a pretty classic cocktail party, but with my own personal touches. I invited everyone through social networks and by mail, finished the decorations, the music, found a caterer, prepared a fun quiz for my guests. And my usual print supplier was closed! I had to run all over the place to find a replacement who could get the flyers and cards out, all while making it to my hairdressers on time! What a day! I still need to greet the caterer, make sure everything's in place, and then my guests will be here. I'm a bit nervous, I hope everything will go well!
