need a bit of help
how do you get money? the jobs hardly get you anything and I can't find any other way...(besides spending real money and I'm not doing that, don't have that kinda cash)

The jobs are the only way to make money.
If you save up enough to finish a quest, sometimes you can win a job that pays 7 per day.. which does help a bit.

when you work, go to the progress bar under "My Career" and level up once a day. You can get Charisma, Intelligence, and other points when you fill it up. These points can get you a new job. The most you can earn is $6, plus a $1 if you watch the video. You can also buy VIP, which doubles your daily income plus a bonus $35 per week.

that..thanks. I'm not sure I'll stay here then. If you really can earn hardly any money at all. Thats just.. horrible.

Just like real life, a person sometimes has to start out with little. Depending how long you stay here, you could earn more. VIP doubles your diva bucks daily, plus gives you 35 Diva bucks on Fridays. If you have a 7 DB job, have the VIP... that's 14 DB a day + the 35... 133 diva bucks per week.

You actually get a lot more now as a beginner than you used to.
There wasn't a tutorial you could go through. Didn't automatically get to go to the 4 $$ paying job. There weren't gifts in the loft to open. Wasn't a free inventory, had to either purchase the attic or creatively hide all your stuff. :P No sure we even got the extra money for validating accounts (can't remember that far back..haha)
Anyway, for a lot of people here, its a nice little community & we would love to have you if you choose to stay! :)

You get 50 db for validating your email. And after doing that if you don't immediately start spending, you can click on "My Trophies" and get a free pair of earrings. There's many ways to get free stuff. A lot of times if I have a new player that wants to be a Daily Voter with me, I will give them free gifts from one of my other doll.

Make sure you go to the e-mail address you registered with to confirm that your account was validated. They should have sent you a like inside the e-mail, you will need to click it.
