We arrive in Cambulac, the Mongolian capital, at the beginning of winter.
The Great Khan's palace is as majestuous as Kublai Khan himself. That said, he is wary of strangers like us and forbids us from leaving the fortress. We have no other choice but to familiarize ourselves with the local customs. So, we learn music and hobbies and start feeling a bit at home.

Spring has come and we are finally allowed to explore the city and beyond. Marco has gotten closer to the Khan and I have been able to find friendship with Empress Chabi, who is fond of my drawings and stories, and the fact that I am a woman adventurer.
And now Kublai has given us a business mission. We get back on the silk road.

So, I work hard learning martial arts with the palace's kung fu master. Think kung fu, act kung fu, eat kung fu, be kung fu!

A few years later, I catch sight of a familiar lagoon. I'm back home.

We ride on horseback all the way to the Chinese emperor's tent. The prime minister respectfully accommodates us and introduces us to the emperor, who is still only a child. I wonder if we'll be able to make a deal, and more importantly, if we'll make it out of here alive.
A few years later, I catch sight of a familiar lagoon. I'm back home.
