Where have our Moderators gone

I know about one, but the others? Where have they gone?

Re: Where have our Moderators gone

Does that make OMD lawless now? O_o;; Without the mods to enforce the rules, what do we as users do? (though I doubt anybody will come and cause trouble.)

What do we do now?

Re: Where have our Moderators gone

exactly! the loft and fashion shows will be a free for all! Rules disregarded.
The current fashion show  requires 2 jewelry and 1 shoe item, but several of the entries are hiding shoes under long dresses! Even if they show a little at the bottom is okay',  as long as a shoe is seen.
This would be something that used to be addressed and looked at. The dolls decorations category was forbidden on the current show (which would keep most background off limits) but usually the system will not let you enter and let you know the reason why so you have a chance to change your entry.
But its not really posted anymore and you have to go to french site to get info.

Re: Where have our Moderators gone

Without the mods around, there's nothing stopping users from breaking the rules of the game and the board.
So do we just... take matters into our own hands? I know that none of us have the power to ban, edit or lock threads, but in terms of posting news and guides, is that something that now falls on us? It feels like we really have been abandoned...

Re: Where have our Moderators gone

I'll admit, it's comforting to see mods around. I can't explain the feeling, but it gives a little hope to coming back here when I saw your reply Cocobelle.

I agree with Sierradane, if it isn't too much of an inconvenience, maybe one of the active users could take on the mod role now?

If we could, we would.. we’ve tried to reach our GM over the past year about several issues, this being one of them.  No response.  I wish I had better news, but unfortunately it looks we’re stuck stuck as mods whether we want to do it or not.  I really don’t have the time I used to have to give to this game & it’s hard for me to want to do it with the way things have been.  I am still here though..

Ask to be removed from the team. Thay can't force anyone to do a volunteer work. All the french mods can quite, and a new recruitment can be organized. For us server too, don't give up.

Should keep badgering them until something happens. I mean, at this point, what are they going to do? Ignore us more than they already are? We haven't had an official announcement in ages.

At least that's  some news or info to be had instead of being in the dark.  If you are on Facebook Cocobelle and you want, look up the group OMD PALS.  A group of us discuss things there about the game.

I had a mod at the French forum offer to check out one of my tickets, of course... they never replied after the offer.   It was Avart.

It seems that the at the French forums, things get accomplished quicker.  Of course it's that "step child" syndrome... they are the parent server and we are the step child who doesn't really matter.

It might help if more than one or two were to try to get a ticket answered.  Or perhaps if several from the US server post on the French server to see if someone there would respond.

Also, is there a moderator who is in charge of all the others or are all moderators here equal?  I'd like to send a PM.

It's Avart (basically) mdr but there was another person in charge of the Mods (Yunni33) who quite the team recently. Ask Stargaite, she's very active.

Each server has its own team but french server can help others...

fashion shows are the only thing ‘new’ so it’s sad to see so many formal long dresses.

not having any news or any response from a GM makes me scared for this game. makes me feel like they may save the French server but the other servers will just get forgotten /:

Re: Where have our Moderators gone

Are these two players still active in the game or were they ever?

karotte007 is a board administrator (who used to be our GM but now oversees the other GM's) and kmilea is our current GM (Games Manager.)

I know that there used to be a server for Israel and that was deleted over a year ago.  Hopefully they will at least save the US server if they choose to "just save the French" server and not the others.  It's been ages since I've logged my international dolls in, perhaps I should do that to see if those servers are still there.

2nd this.

Modding just isn't what it used to be, and it doesn't mean what it used to mean, and we don't have the tools we used to have, and it doesn't feel the way it used to feel, and we don't have the support we used to have, and the issues aren't the same.

That doesn't mean we just want to be replaced, though, without any say in the matter. nrv

Thanks.

P.S. I don't think we should have to go to the French server and talk to mods there to try to get something done on the US server. We didn't used to need to (nor have we had success when it was previously attempted.) A perfect example of what I mean when I say we don't have the support we used to.

Re: Where have our Moderators gone

Thank you Cocobelle and Willowsky for your replies. I really appreciate your honesty

It is a pity that this game is sinking. I still think that having too many servers is one of the factors resulting in this shut down. It would have worked out to have only three versions: English, French and Spanish and no more. Another factor is that this game changed owner and this owner is not a good one. But this is just my humble opinion.

Today, while deleting emails from 2017, I came across one of the emails that a Feerik representative sent me in 2017 when I had problems with some feez purchases. He was an employee from Feerik and helped me solve my problem. I could post his address in the FB page if this helps. His name is Guillaume De Meij.

I just hope that this game survives. I like its interface, its design and its community. And please, stop doing designer's parades. I want new stuff, new quests and new content!

Compared to the rest of the servers the French server is both the origin and the most active/up to date. If nobody attempted to contact one of the people there, we'd still have spammers in the forums and reports going unheard. We had no clue if there were ANY active mods left when most of them have been inactive for years, and even want to leave the site entirely.

Nobody is trying to replace you. If being a mod is such an impossible chore that the only two semi-active mods out of the entire team don't want to do it anymore, then we can get at least one more who is active daily to keep what's left of the site together or show that the US server hasn't been completely abandoned by its userbase like the rest of the servers have. I don't see anything wrong with having another helping hand, do you?

Clearly, going to the French server worked if one of the mods from over there came to us. Like the saying goes, "Yell loud enough, and someone will eventually come over to see what all the fuss is about." There is no harm in doing it and nobody was hurt, if a little bit inconvenienced.

Our feelings towards the state of the game are valid, and we're not the only ones who don't like the direction it's going. I can assure that someone from the Spanish or Danish server would have done the same as we did. Please don't take it personally, but if there was nothing you nor the other mods left could do, then what other choices do we have? Ride it outwhile the site goes full Mad Max and hope we don't get deleted again?

Re: Where have our Moderators gone

I would like to add something to what Campanella has just written. I have a doll in the Spanish server (since Spanish is my native language). There was a very active mod called Mermaidnati. I talked to her at the beginning of the May, She felt absolutely hopeless about the game and she told me that the GM of the game had told her off because she complained too much (she received PM from other players asking her for help, especially for feez purchases since in certain countries the feez purchase option has been deleted). She no longer plays the game because of that and because she cannot buy feez as she used to do.

I agree with Campanella's point of view. We do not want to replace the mods. But if we want this server to survive, we need to show them that we care and we are active here (and that we are willing to buy feez and do quests!).

Re: Where have our Moderators gone

My last reply to a ticket sent was in 2017.  I had sent them this:

Posted On: 18 Jan 2017 12:39 PM CEThttp://us.ohmydollz.com/board/viewtopic.php?id=10999

I wanted to share a thread that I created at the US server forums where I asked the players IF they had three wishes for this great game, what would it be. So far the ideas are great for the most part. I just thought that perhaps someone at your company could have a look at it... maybe even a reply from someone important? to encourage people.

We all love this game and we all wish only the best for your company.

Thank you

SIERRADANE
US SERVER

Their reply, which took almost a month:

Posted On: 09 Feb 2017 01:00 PM CET
Greetings sierradane,

Thanks for setting up this thread! : ) I've communicated it to the staff and they will surely take a look at it and take it into account for future changes/releases. ; )

Have a great day!

Sincerely,

Guillaume

With that particular ticket, they did take some of our ideas into account.  For instance, the hair that could be only purchased in the "Change my look area" was added to the stores.

Andybel:

I could post his address in the FB page if this helps. His name is Guillaume De Meij.

Anything might be a help, but no doubt that particular individual may have moved on already and their email address no longer working.  I for one would give it a try, seeing if he would reply though.

Campanella:

I agree.  I know of 3 individuals who have done things on this forum that would have almost been considered something that a mod would have done such as make game guides or guides for the levels.   I have applied in the past for a mod, and perhaps had I been made one at the time of the last call for another mod... I would have been even more help.   I think when you have a group of individuals heading something such as this, it is more beneficial to have an odd number as opposed to an even number.  I don't know if there have ever been times when things would have been voted on... but an even number might have ended up in a tie.

In the past couple of weeks, I had sent PMs to half the mods with no reply.  I even chose the option of the "report" button, but nothing on that. I still come to this board and I was getting tired of seeing the person bumping old posts.  By them doing this, it at first got the players excited at seeing something they thought was new. Then disappointed when they realized it was something old.  The French server have daily updates & answer questions quicker.  I'm sure that even they are somewhat at a loss as the the absolute status of where this game is, for probably they are even kept in the dark to some extent.  I will say that I did finally get a reply from a mod, after a French mod posted here.

There are people willing to help, willing to take some weight off your shoulders. Let them, instead of shutting them out.

Re: Where have our Moderators gone

Nobody wants people replaced.

We want a game we love not to be deleted or abandoned. We fear what happens to a game that everyone has given up on. There are many issues I’ve seen not been solved since >2018 which makes me scared. people who are not rebuying vip, etc.

When theirs no communication people start to make up their own reason as in why - and usually it’s not positive thinking.

Doesn’t make me feel any better that the GM was rude to the Spanish server mod ....

We haven't been inactive for years..  I've been around just a lot less chatty.  We all tried to contact people on the french version, and were getting NO responses.  We tried getting another mod in, no response.  So, when you say

Clearly, going to the French server worked if one of the mods from over there came to us.

I feel a little annoyed to be honest, because we tried.  I am, however, really happy that someone over there finally listened!

Guillaume De Meij

was our old GM and is no longer around.

If you want to make guides then do so because you want to. :)  For me, I just thought it would be nice.  Its not considered one of our mod jobs.  It gets to be a bit disheartening, when something you've done to be nice turns into an expectation & then get grief about it..

You just admitted that you quit playing because of the state of the game.

As a mod, I got very frustrated with things around here & pretty much quit playing since there's really only so much we (mods) can do at this point.

You and Willow aren't the only mods for the US server, you're the only ACTIVE mods left. You disappeared without a word, so we were inclined to believe that you joined the rest of the crowd and left. Now that you're back, we NOW KNOW you're here and you're doing what you can with what you have. I wasn't accusing you of being "inactive for years"  or not helping, I'm talking about the people who left long before the site started going downhill. The GM who disappeared and was never replaced, the mods who chose to cut their losses and leave OMD for greener pastures, the mods who applied for the role and never did their jobs from the start, the company behind the game who sits and reassures us players that nothing is wrong but provide no transparency for anybody on whether the site will last until 2020!
It's not an attack on you or other mods here! I know you're doing your best because you can only do so much to help, and we want to help too, but only if you accept it.

We know that what we're doing isn't going to save the game, but we want to help the last people who are trying to hold everything down. But if the last people in charge are ignoring us or trying to downplay the issues at hand, what are we supposed to do? I'm not going to sit back and watch everything get dumped on you and Willow when we can do something to make a change. We can't just leave an entire game to just two people.
