Coloured text

After much discussion between the Mods, we have come to a decision to ban coloured text.

Why? Because too many members are using colours that are simply unreadable on the default background.

If people can not read your posts most will simply pass by it. It's also a pain for us as we have to read every post and that means we have to spend extra time and gives us extra headaches when trying to decipher what on earth you've written.

There are only two exceptions to this rule.
- Coloured text may still be used as header text but ONLY in the Contests/Clubs forum.
- Coloured text may still be used in your signatures.
- If you'd like to use colours anywhere else please contact a mod and ask.

Re: Coloured text

Okay, I'm currently editing posts to change the colours. If you see any posts I forgot, please remind me, as I have lots and it's going to be quite a challenge to remember them all. Thank you! :)

You don't need to change posts already posted. Anything from this point on just need to be in the default text colour.

If you mean you want to post the code for the colours. Yes you can. Just use small sections to demonstrate the colours rather than using it on a whole post.

Re: Coloured text

Thanks. I see Nikkzscreams has been on color patrol on all colored posts. This will save her breath ;) I also think that the Created By You section (only first post) should have colors in it. It brightens everything up and gives the topic a nice atmosphere!

Oh, thank goodness!

I have a question - will colour coding be disabled (so it dosen't work)?

No it won't. Since it's still allowed as headings and in signatures.

Oh yes, I forgot ouf Thanks!

@ Pinkbow; I like the idea, but, I think it would get confusing if one topic was allowed coloured text.

Re: Coloured text

Thank-you so much for deciding to do this, Mods! I did tend to skip over posts with writing that was difficult to decipher/hurt my eyes to read. This will make forum browsing much simpler :)

If you go and look in the FAQ forum and at the objectives post. That's what I mean.

Re: Coloured text

it's good that we won't have nearly unreadble texts anymore
applau
but... couldn't you make an exception for (color=blue), (color=red) and (color=green) codes, as long as they're readble in the default background?
quoi
or the exceptions you've already quoted will be the only ones?

Re: Coloured text

The Thing I find easiest is just to highlight the text so you can read it. It really is that simple ^^

Hello, I were wondering....

Well I mean that one word is in one color, next is default, then again colorful...

Re: Coloured text

Great

Mod Edit: Your signature image is too large. Please go and read the signature image rules as you have not done so. This counts as a warning.

i've got 3 questions about this:

1) why ONLY in the Contests/Clubs?
2) why not on dollz cafe and games?
3) can we request the colors to be allowed in those 2 other forums?
