A Room for Rent

Hi dollz!

There's good news concerning property business on OhMyDollz! Indeed, a new temporary and exclusive room has been launched: "The Star Renting"!

This exclusive renting enables you to get plenty of game bonuses:

- One or two special news every week,

- Plenty of surprise gifts,

- A special star flirt,

All the exclusivities are reserved for the lucky ones who have this very special room!

http://blogus.feerik.com/images/Sans%20titre%202.jpg

How does it work?

You can buy this room until October 3rd. Then you will have more than a month to make the most of it (until November 6th)!

What about the items that will be in that room when the renting ends?
After November 6th your doll won't appear in the room anymore. You will be able to change the decoration and move the items around but the bonuses will be over.

Where can I buy this room?
You can buy the room at the architect's via the bank.

What's the price of it? The price changes according to the size of the room.

- The price of the classic version: 599 fee'z per month,

- The price of the Mega Star version: 699 fee'z per month

The room will also contain a furniture set:

A table, a chair, a lamp, a tree and flowers.

Caution: once you have chosen the Star Renting, you cannot change it for the Mega Star Renting. So be careful before you make up your mind!

Have fun on OhMyDollz!

If I would be able to keep the room then I would get it but for it to go away within one month no thank you.

yeah, that's what I thought too D:
the worst thing is that you get it only for 1 month..and it's really bad for me because sometimes I'm so busy (or maybe lazy :D) that I don't make any changes in some rooms for a long time until I'm finally ready to change something xD

Re: A Room for Rent

I don't really understand why this is supposed to be a "good deal?"  Why would I want a room I can only access once?  I guess I don't understand this offer.  Just what is the benefit of having this room?

Re: A Room for Rent

I saw this new "deal" and my first reaction was:  REALLY?!?!??!   Let me check my forehead.  I don't see anything written there.

I am in accordance with the majority so far: I will NOT be doing this.

Something new I noticed this morning on one of my alt dolls (since there are no more rooms I can buy with FEEZ):

I clicked on the room to rent in the Realty section of the store & it showed my unclothed doll in that room.  (is that something new? to be able to "view" a room before you buy it with feez?)

Also...

Does this "room for rent" look like any of the options for future rooms we recently voted for?  The poll with the choices of: ranch, candyland, castle... etc

Re: A Room for Rent

I'm not doing this, for me it's not a fair deal. Why would i want to rent an expensive room for so much feez without being able to keep it at the end?  The room it's not even extraordinary...

Re: A Room for Rent

I'm reading the posts on the French forum and according to some of the posts, they are saying that

If you rent the room again, it will be cheaper to rent the second
It would be that after a number of rental, it is finally available.
Incidentally, she is very beautiful!

(maybe a mod can go check that thread out: http://www.ohmydollz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=80291 )

Even with that concept of the rental room being cheaper each time you rent it until you finally have it "always" that is still not a good deal & I see it as throwing feez away.

Re: A Room for Rent

If you click on the room (from the Party tab) loft area, there is lots more information. Seems like there's a famous man involved, and he gives you lots of gifts. Then you can move them all to another room to have use of them. Still, I don't think it's such a great deal when you can't keep the room.

Re: A Room for Rent

Okay...we all know this is a business and most of the time I understand the business practices that go on with OMD but this is really unfair. Like others have said, this seems a little impractical for the buyer.

I hope that this is not the way that they'll be taking things in the future. I know we've all said we want more rooms for feez but I don't think any of us meant like this.

Re: A Room for Rent

that's what I thought too but I believe that buying the room will pay off with some prizes and flash sale(or sales) which is going to be for whole day (at least that's what I've read in french forum). Not to mention that there might be some things on stores that only those who bought the room will be able to get. All that's left for me is to hope that my money didn't go to waste since I've bought the room ^^'
and usually OMD make up for things that seem to be unfair at the start with some nice stuff that you don't expect to get from the deal..

Re: A Room for Rent

From what I've read at the French Forum, after the one month (and I could be wrong) the room turns into a room much like "The Street" in that your doll won't appear there.  But then there's the other confusing things like "it will be cheaper next time you rent it," etc, etc.

Personally I don't need another "street" type room & while the Flash Sales are great, they are only great if you are online at that particular moment that an item is offered.  Time will tell and maybe since you, Dyingneko has decided to go for this opportunity, we can pay attention to the things she reports about experiencing.

That's what I got too. So what's this blurring that's in the news post?

And only being able to move items using your "stock-list."  Is that referring to My Stuff?

Maybe I need more information on this, but for now, it's not interesting to me at all.

Re: A Room for Rent

The cost of the rooms for 599 & 699 feez is too expensive in the first place when normal rooms cost 150 feez. My initial thought was that renting is much cheaper than buying a room therefore it would be cheaper than 150 feez or they should have made the decision to rent out the room at 50 feez for 6 months & after that you would own the room permanently. I know they need to make profits to pay their employees & cover various costs but they should take an example from other simiar sites which are very successful, they need to lower prices to encourage more members as making things too expensive would actually push people away. And they're trying to make profit from the few members they have instead of lowering the prices & making things easier to attract more members which would bring in the profit they want.  Examples of similar sites that even give out free rooms for a start have members who buy extra rooms & pay yearly subscriptions. I still don't get how you exchange 150 feez for $$$30 or $$$40.

Re: A Room for Rent

I've sent the GM an email asking for more insight into why this is a good offer for us, the players?

I also asked some specific questions, so hopefully we can get a better understanding of this offer soon. :)

Thanks Willow. I'm a completest (is that even a word?) so I'll probably get it anyway.

Re: A Room for Rent

699 for a room that I can only keep for a month is so not worth it. -.-

Re: A Room for Rent

Hi girls,

I see many of you are a bit confused quoi  about that new room, I suppose the news wasn't clear enough so I'm gonna try and explain to you what that Renting is all about:

So you have a normal size or a huge room that you can rent. With both rooms, you get a furniture set made of: A table, a chair, a lamp, a tree and flowers which Malu listed in her post. (Thanks!) Both also give you bonuses that is:
- news specially made for those who rent the room
- a special star flirt
- and surprise gifts.

All the bonuses will start on October the 3rd and end on November 6th.
After that, the room is still yours, you can do anything you usually do in other rooms, the only difference is that your doll doesn't appear in it (as in the Street "room" for example).

Is it more clear for you? If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Re: A Room for Rent

I think its very simple..Do you want this to be the future of OMD?
Do you want more of these type offers where you pay a steep price for something that is temporary and a bunch of random gifts you cannot review before purchase?
then yes this is the offer for you.
If you expect a little more and at least be able to own what you buy and buy because you liked what you saw, then i recommend strongly to hold off for a more classic offer like an adventure or regular flirt.

so, during the time you rent the room, that's the time you have your doll in it. and if you rent it now, you get to keep the room later, but the doll will not be there after one month? is that what I'm understanding?

Re: A Room for Rent

I don't get it at all. I don't see the point in spending feez only to use a flat for a month! You can't see your doll there, you can't move your stuff... where is the advantage? quoi

Sarah wrote that we can do everything in the room we usually do but our doll won't appear. So I guess that means we will be able to move the items around (rearrange it) but not have our doll there (just like the Street - just like she said).
