One Shot
“Hey Becks!” I call as she walks over to me, and I can’t help but stare; she’s wearing normal black Capri-yoga pants, her favorite grey sweater, and her absolute favorite pair of rainbow Sanuk sandals. I feel over-dressed in my jeans, slightly dressy t-shirt, and my favorite pair of sneakers.

I texted Becca earlier to free me of my boredom, and she suggested the park. So, I sat here for ten minutes waiting, when she finally appeared just now. You see, I’ve known Becca for most of my life, and until recently, she’s been my friend, just my friend. But now, I’ve started to see her as someone I want to be with, for now, and forever. I haven’t told her, obviously, but I might sometime soon, when I’m positive she has the same feelings for me.

I give her a friendly smile as she sits, and I manage to pull my gaze away from her, and set it on the little pond a few yards from us.

“Hey.” She says with her silky-smooth voice. Gosh I just love her voice. But I don’t turn around; I still stay turned to stare at the small body of water. “So what do you want to do?” She asks after a slightly awkward silence.

“Shall we hit the swings?” I state, turning to glance at her with a mischief filled smirk. Becks smiles, jumps up and rushes over to the swing set, I sit there, stunned by her amazing smile, but snap out of it quickly, and chase after her.

She giggles as I catch up to her and tickle her sides. Squirming out of my grasp, she darts to her inner-claimed swing, and sits triumphantly. I give her a lopsided grin as I walk to the swing next to hers, sit, and pump my legs back and forth just as she does, and we fly.

Symbolically of course, we are doing a version of flying, but not like a bird could.

When I reach the highest point I possibly can, I turn and watch Becca. She’s done concentrating on working her legs to get her higher and higher, and is now watching an older couple feeding pigeons on the little blue bench that’s situated just outside of the park. I have to admit, they are adorable for an elderly couple, and truthfully, I want something like that; something that lasts till we’re old, and have great-grandchildren.

Before I know it, Becca jumps off during mid-swing, and walks over to the slide. I watch as she just sits at the top and watches the robins fly through the sky. I sigh as I watch her, and I picture a life with her; just her and me, and later, maybe a couple of kids. Who knows?

I finally jump off of my swing, and walk over to her. I lie at the bottom of the slide and rest my head on the cool metal as I stare up at the golden sky. Becca looks down at me and smiles sweetly, and almost invitingly. I raise my eyebrows at her, but all she does is smile. Without hesitating, I push myself off of the slide, and climb up the stairs behind Becks. I place my legs around her and she adjusts herself so that she’s sitting on my thigh. I lean my upper-body against a metal pole that’s behind me; Becca notices, and snuggles up into my shoulder.

“I’m not as pretty as some girls, I’m not as funny as some girls, and I’m not as smart as some girls. Why did you choose me?” She murmurs, and I know she knows about my affection for her.

With a happy sigh, I put my arms around her. “To me, you are perfect.”

The Written Writings of a Prefect's Not-So Perfect Love Story
Entry # 1 - Taken from the diary of Percy Ignatius Weasley
August 11th, 1999
Today, I've been promoted to head of the Department of Education in the Ministry. I've also met an angel. She goes by the name Marietta Susanne Foirfe, and her beauty is undoubtedly incomparable.
She moves with grace and elegance in the most ungraceful and inelegant places. Even a blind person would feel her aura of perfection.
I have the undeniable luck of having her as my assistant in the Ministry. Just hearing her perfectly melodious voice, even when she is far far away gives me happiness.
Once I have the courage, I will write her a letter. Something that will express my love for her. What shall I give her as a gift, though? What could she possibly want to have? She's perfection, what more does she need?
Entry #2 - Percy Ignatius Weasley's first letter
Dear Marietta,
I have finally taken up the courage to write you a letter, this August 24th. I just couldn't stand the thought of you receiving so many before mine is sent, I've seen the boys in the office scribbling while they think I'm not looking. Staring at your perfection as if they were deserving of even a peek at your surreal violet eyes that have specks of silver within them.
I hope you do not see me as the lovesick brainless puppy that the others are.
I cannot convey my feelings for you in a simple letter, so here I invite you to come with me on a date.
I know it is bold of me to ask, but if I do not do it boldly, I feel like I cannot do it at all.

I just hope your family won't see me as a snotty rich girl. I did not get to where I am as the Wizard World's Richest Man's Only Daughter.
I got here by becoming the youngest ever to graduate Hogwarts. Fifteen is a remarkably young age for graduation is it not?

My Only, my Marietta,
My family adores you. You're such a forgiving person, even if you did not know of Harry and Hermione's appearance, you took it in stride. Everyone loves you, but of course not even in a millionth of how I love you.
They say they especially likes your story of how you saved an entire species of the already endangered Sparkle Streaked Furret, which in turn helped saved millions who were dying of the Conticus Disease who's only cure was the fur of said animal.The day we meet again is too far even if its only in a fer hours.

I fear for my life when we are together and I'm pained when we are apart.

It is not because you are Voldemort's secret daughter, in fact, you're the most incredibly kind person I've met. Your wealth has never mattered to me, so why would your genealogy matter?
I can still remember your first day with me, I was shocked to see such a young woman rank so high in the Ministry.
I hope we can still be on good terms, after all, you're already best friends with Harry, Hermione and Ron. You even found a cure for Neville's parents!
But, I cannot live this way. My life is in danger every second I spend with you. I used to think that your perfection matched mine, but now I know it outshines me too much and I can never be accepted as yours.

Him
Look at him,
Isn’t he just handsome?
I fill my cup to the brim,
And wish I could hold him for ransom.

He sits alone,
While I stand and stare,
But to him, I am unknown.
His girl friends turn and glare.

With a sigh I sit on the floor,
The girls are satisfied I’m out of sight,
I just count to four;
It keeps my breathing right.

I watch as he gets up to leave.
My heart stops when he starts this way,
And I can’t help but pick at my sleeve,
While the girls act as if there was foul play.

I drop my eyes as he starts to go by,
He looks down, and decides to smile.
Looking up sheepishly, I say “Hi.”
His smile widens as he replies, “My name is Kyle.”

Pushing my dark hair from my face,
Kyle sits down beside me as I turn to him, “Mine is Cindy.”
He smiles again while I play with my necklace.
The girls turn to stare as Kyle and I talk, but all he says is: “Don’t mind Mindy.”

I give a small smile as he dismisses the girls,
He then turns to me and says: “Do you want to catch a movie soon?”
My eyes widen and I notice his curls.
Nodding I smile as he grabs my hand, “Of course I do.” I say, trying not to swoon.
