Today is the Québec National Day !

For this event, we propose you an items hunt. The items have the National Quebec colours.

Collect a total of 50 items amongst these 3 types :

- Bottle of maple syrup :

The maple syrup is a syrup made ​​from the sap produced in early spring. The sap produced in late spring has a different taste. The maple syrup is produced in the forests of northeastern North America (especially in Quebec, Ontario, the Maritime Provinces of Canada and New England mainly), and now is sold all around the world, including Japan (main importer).

- Quebec flag :
The flag of Quebec consists of a white cross and four lilies of the same color on light blue background. This flag was adopted by the Government of Quebec under the government of Maurice Duplessis. It was raised for the first time on 21 January 1948, at the provincial office in Quebec City.
The fleur-de-lis fleet today worldwide on delegations and offices in Quebec and abroad.

- Plate of "poutine" :

Poutine is a Quebec dish and consists of fries and cheese (fresh cheddar), covered with "barbecue" sauce. Its origin is not known precisely and there are many variations based on the addition of different sauces, cheese or meat.

You have until Sunday 30th of june at Noon to collect all the items and get the decoration!!

And because a little of general knowledge is always good, here's a little more information on the Quebec National Day :

On 11 May 1977 a ministerial decree of the government of René Lévesque declaired officially June 24th as the National Day of Quebec. Even if before this day was the celebration of Canadian-French people, Quebecers adopted this date for their National Day. This holidays is also an opportunity for a big cultural festival for Quebecers to demonstrate their existence in the world and their sense of belonging in Quebec. The tradition of lighting fires at night is still alive.

For several years, a parade of the Quebec National Day in France is organized by the Québec Government Office in Paris. Delegations from New York, London, Brussels, Tokyo and Mexico also support activities to this celebration.
