Kayla:

"Six years old. Why do you ask ?" I say.

Kayla:

I waited. And waited. I could see that she was sad, or angry, maybe. Perhaps she lost her daddy, and now she misses him ? I think there's only one way to find out.

"Iree," I asked, "What happened to your daddy ?"

I stop for a moment. I am so confused. "What do you mean ?" I ask her. "This is my daddy. This can't be your daddy. I have no brothers or sisters. What do you mean ?"

Iree:
"You said that your mother told you that he had another child. That's me. Father wasn't at all loyal to my mother soon after I was born. He went out with lots of people behind her back. Or so he thought. Mother knew about it but both of them couldn't get a divorce. Their company would go down the drain since they both share the money."

Iree:
'NO!...We can't....I can't go there. I just got out, I can't go back. I can't think of what'll happen if I go back." Benny. They might hurt him instead of me. They may be hurting him right now. No no no. I don't know what to do anymore.
"Kayla, I don't know what your mother said about father. But whatever good she said about him was wrong. He's a bad person. He may take you in. But at the same time it's more likely that he won't."

Iree:
I looked at Xavier and then back at Kayla. At this point anyone else would be a better father than him

Verene:
I was really staring at Xavier. Since when was he so...fatherly??
He smiled and patted her head with one hand before saying, "We can make that official, then....Uh...We might need to wait for a while until Verene and I get to walk around more freely." His eyes suddenly shone as he seemed to have gotten an idea, "Unless..."

Xavier:
”No, Little one. We are not. Our clans want us to get married, but...since we ran away and joined fairytail, they will try to hunt us down which is why we can't go around freely...but...” I was lost in thought by now, ”What if we were married?”

And as if on cue, Verene gasped before exclaiming, ”Of course not. We are NOT getting married.”

Xavier:
I shook my head, ”Neither of us can hide for too long...which again makes me think we should 'get married'.”
Verene's eyes    widened as she exclaimed, ”You've got to be kidding me!!!”

Xavier:
”Listen to the kid, V. You and I can be restless for only so long. I thought that running away would grant us our freedom, but now...We know they're planning something...They can hurt the se people who tried to help us.” She was so quiet. She always scared me when she did that. Her eyes were piercing through mine...She looked almost frozen.” all I'm saying is we get married on paper...for now.”

Iree:
"Hmm thats not such a bad idea. Considering they want to join the two clans, you two can get 'married', just sign the papers and let them think they've got what they wanted all along. Its more likely that they'll leave you so soon as they have 'proof' that you two are in fact married."

Kayla:

"Yaaaay! Now we can go to the Fairy Tail house and tell everyone, right ? Come on, let's go!" I took Xaviers' hand and pulled. "Come on, let's go to Fairy Tail!" I said, jumping up and down. I was so excited!
