Here is a very interesting topic, in fact fashion during french revolution was unknown, but it is very instructive because since that time fashion and clothing become the materialization of ideas.

To participate, your doll have necessarily wear an outfit that could be weared under the revolution, either royalists or either Republicans.

Here some image that can help you to have some inspiration.

The French national Day is celebrated on July 14th, you probably know. But why this date? If you would answer "the Bastille conquest", well it is not completely right.

True, the Bastille was conquered on 14th July 1789. But the real reson is a little more subtle: the French national holiday commemorates the feast of the Federation that took place on July 14th, 1790, the first anniversary of the Bastille conquest, on the initiative of La Fayette to celebrate the Federated National Guard of France. He wanted an event of reconciliation and unity for all the French people.

The Federation Celebration in Paris, July 14th, 1790.

In 1880, Benjamin Raspail proposed the adoption of 14 July as celebration day of the French Republic. In the Senate, a lively discussion took place, because that date was not commoly accepted. For the French national holiday, everybody wanted a symbol of the unity of the nation, the birth of the Republic.

The conquest of the Bastille on 14th July 1789, is one of these symbols. But it was considered too painful and bloody by the senators. So at the end, it is July 14th, 1790, the Federation Day, which is preferred.

We can nevertheless see in this two-way choice a kind of consensus, if officially July 14th in France commemorates the Federation Day, it is very easy to remind July 14th, the day of the conquest of the Bastille.

It is also easy to make confusion: for most of French people, the national holiday commemorates the conquest of the Bastille on 14th July 1789. To test it, just ask to some person around you: you will see!

Re: [Fashion Show] Theme : the style during the French Revolution!

I'm hoping not to see a load of Rococo style dresses which was before the French Revolution. During the revolution the fashion was a lot more simple as money was scarce, even among the rich. The emphasis went on the hair accessories.
