[Fashion Show] New Theme: Magical Dollz!

Hi Girls!

I will be attending the Japan expo with my japanese friend this year. She's a big fan of cosplay and therefore, we're starting with our costumes already to look absolutely perfect when the expo starts.

This year, the theme will be: Magical Girls! So we'll have to wear one of the beautiful outfits of these heroines.

From Tuesday at 10:00 AM (CET) you can register for the show.

There's time until Monday February 3rd at 10:00 AM to make up your outfit, make the most of it!

For this theme, your doll needs to be dressed in a wonderful costume worth of a Magical Girl! Ribbons, glitter, stars, flashy hair, everything's allowed as long as your doll wears:
- a skirt or short dress
- a scepter or magic staff

You are allowed to use:

- pets
- fantasy-elements around your doll, that match her outfit
- special effects (fire, glitter, …) on or around the outfit
- clothes to hide the doll and create a new body shape

You can get more information on the board by clicking on "Details about the Show" on the upper right side of the Fashion Show contest registration page.

You can also ask questions on the topic about the show.

To register this week, you have to:

- Use AT LEAST 1 element from the Cosplay store

- Use AT LEAST 1 element from the Crystae store

You mustn't use :

- Gifts you received from your friends
- Ready-made Outfits (including those from the Chests and the Cupboards)
- Wings
- Sceneries
- Long dresses
- Slacks

I remind you that if you can not follow the requirements of the subject, it is better to wait for the next contest instead to be banned for non-compliance with the theme.

Make sure your outfit is consistent and complies with the theme before you register.

Also check that there are no objects attached to your doll that you do not want to show. If the object is not attached to your doll, it will not be visible during the show!

We can't use WINGS for a MAGICAL girl theme. Really though? I mean come on. Make it a little easier on us!
And no long dresses! B-b-but not all magical people wear short stuff. >.<
I'm going to try nonetheless. Lets see how I'll be able to do this.

I was pretty excited for this theme I was going to register with the outfit in my garden but it has a long dress and wings >.<

I think it's a specific anime series or something, not just magical people in general. I tried Googling it and found images like this:

I've never heard of it, but then again, I'm not into anime. I'm sure the anime fans on here will be plenty excited!

i know right... i'm not sure i'd be able to make a decent magic outfit for my dollz without long dresses/wings. *goes try*
what's next? a fairy/angel/butterfly theme where wings are forbirden? ¬¬

i AM an anime fan, but sometimes those mangaka cross the line. must be the reason i mostly watch shounen instead of shoujou...

I think maybe they mean Magical Girl as in Sailor Moon type girls. They usually all have a magical wand type thing, short dresses or bodysuits, and I can't think of any that have had wings.

I've noticed they have become very strict on the items we can and can not wear. Still don't understand why they keep saying no wings.

I think they like to 'ban' wings because it's too easy for someone to simply place them on their doll and say that they are dressed up in a magical outfit. They want players to really use their imagination. Or so that's my guess.

I decided to enter. I don't really like to put myself out there, but I really like the theme. My doll's outfit is a combination of two Japanese cartoons: "Cardcaptor Sakura" and "Wedding Peach", with a bit of Steampunk added in.

I registered my alt, Verya and then I came back here and saw that the rules say no slacks...She's wearing these legging things. Is that okay?

I'm not a mod, clearly, but those don't look like 'slacks' to me. Slacks would be like if your doll was wearing jeans or khakis or something instead of a little skirt as suggested in the post.....hopefully a mod backs me up on that :)

Hello Hollymoua, I got the Dollz Freak show title, too. And someone on the French forums was also asking about it, so it's probably a glitch.

Hey Angelfire, your Verya is really pretty! I'm no Mod either, but I would call those leggings, or leg warmers; not slacks.

Already notice in the fashion show, now in the voting stage, many entries have wings, many have long dresses (and some with both). But see a lot of good ones that are clever.

voting there. and almost regreting not taking part in the show...
it looks like the outfit i had made(and undone) would be better than several ones i've seen...
on the other hand some of the outfits i saw make me feel like i couldn't win anyway XD

We're supposed to have a scepter or magic staff, but almost everyone has a wand or nothing. Do wands even count?

by the way, i just voted for a doll i did not see AT ALL in the previous days and her outfit was just amazing!
AND i also had the same doll i did not vote for appear 3 times in a row! seriously!?

EDIT: i just had the SAME SET OF DOLLZ I would NOT VOTE FOR REPPEAT 5 TIMES TODAY!
while i KNOW there are plenty of dollz i'll like a lot more(and who are not breaking the contest's rules) that NEVER pop up!
