"No no. I heard that. My question was a shock. Since when do you care?!"

Diana:
"Like here? Wouldn't that be expensive?"

Marie:
"Klaus ... " I said softly, "I didn't say no. I didn't mean it. I meant ... I want to, but I'm ... not able to. It feels like ..." I tried to gather my words for a moment. "It feels like a commitment. I'm willing to make, but ... at the same time ... Jen was hurt so many times. More times that I can count. Even with guys that she loved and they loved her back. They spent a couple months together and waited for a while before they did it. But ... they got stuck. Their relationship never progressed. Going deeper into the relationship and then it dying hurt Jen."

I paused, "So it got me thinking ... would going deeper without commitment be a good idea? And I think the question stuck with me...Like would you ... would you... ma..."

I cut it off and quickly added, 'I know I know I'm stupid. people don't think like that."

"Maybe they do it themselves."
