knee pain help?

Hullo, tis I. The frenchiest fry. Anyway. Last night, I went to an ECD (English Country Dance) event and there was a lot of jumping and prancing around.
You probably don't know, but I've been having problems in my left knee for a little over a year now, and I'll be going to the doctor for it when we get health insurance (new jobs yey) but after a bit of healing progress, after last night my knee feels almost worse than ever.
Do you guys have any remedies for knee/joint pain?

Re: knee pain help?

Omg. Believe me I feel your pain.
Mine got a lot better when I actually changed my sleep schedule and practiced meditation before bed. Immediate relief in my knees. Apparently whenever I was under stress or depression, I would tense the joints which caused my knees more pain.

I actually had an old thread about that. Lemme find it in case it helps.

Re: knee pain help?

Take a gallon freezer bag and put about a cup (or two) of UNCOOKED rice in it.  Put that in the freezer.  After this is pretty cold, wrap it in a paper towel then place it on your knee.  20 minutes on... 20 minutes off...  That's what I did for my mom who's knee swells often.  It's better than an ice pack since it's not frozen hard.

Thank you for the ideas! I never really thought about meditation, but it actually makes sense!
And I'm glad there's an alternative for ice packs (they never seem to work for me), that's a really clever idea.

Re: knee pain help?

You could also check the medical braces at a place like Wal-Mart or a pharmacy store - you might be able to find some type of knee brace that could help.
