I'm about to hammer ABC family down to the ground.

Hello? The people who broadcast shows on this channel seem to have forgotten what they named this channel. ABC family.
The chanel litterally has the word family in its name. And here they are, showing some things that parents wouldn't want to show their kids (and by this I'm talking serious kissing. I'm 11 and my mom/dad still don't want me to see people kissing on tv.).
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for people enjoying their shows - you know, if they enjoy watching it - but I wish they would make a new channel so they could actually play things that the entire family could watch. Not just teenagers and up.

Re: I'm about to hammer ABC family down to the ground.

Lol i know how you feel. I'm 15 and my mom makes me change the channel when stuff like that happens.
Of course i tell her that in the end the only thing I can watch os blues clues and Dora the explorer.
I do wish love didnt play such a gigantic role in society. Everything ends up with marraige, girlfriends and boyfriends, and all those things. I was soo happy when I saw Brave. There was no love involved with the main character!
And even Camp Rock. No kiss even though there was love there :3
Sorry its just that i cant watch basically anything so if rather the directors find another plot that isnt boy meets girl and they fall in love happily ever after
*Rant done*

I will agree. The modern children shows are... Very different from when I was younger. As someone who watched Sailor Moon, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Dragonball Z and TMNT, I'm actually shocked at the language difference. Adventure Time is the worst of them. I love it, but... Wow.

(When I was younger, I found it incredibly awkward to watch people kiss.)

I agree, those in charge need to start putting movies up that are more family oriented.

Also.... I wish that the various music video channels would actually play music! instead of those stupid reality shows.  CMT= Coungry MUSIC Television.  Maybe they should go from CMT to CRST (Country reality show television)

That's one of the reasons I don't really watch tv anymore. I can't stand that almost all the shows in nick are about people being singers now. Things in CN are alright, but I miss the days when it didn't have shows with real people in it.

Full House still plays on some channels around here. T never wants to watch it, though.

OMG! Ikr? When we were in Germany, there used to be this channel that would be for kids. It was called AFN (Army Families Network) or something like that. They would bring old cartoons that were discontinued in the US. Shows like Full House and The Brady Bunch.
My parents would let me watch those because they weren't like the shows that are on today.
What's wrong with society these days? The innocence is (almost) all gone!

Actually, here in Kentucky (a state in the US), we still have Save by the Bell and Full House. Full House comes on more around 9 pm and is on and off until like 6 am on TeenNick. I don't know what channel Saved by the Bell is on but it comes on around 3 am or something. They're still aired...just when no one will really be watching them. I miss those shows though along with Big Mamma's House.

Re: I'm about to hammer ABC family down to the ground.

Something else I've noticed is that the old shows have a better humor. Apparently the only good humor any more these days comes in normal people, and not Disney channel,Nicktoons, Etc.
It's a dissapointment nowdays to see that they are trying waaaaaaaaaaay too hard to be funny. But it's really just ridiculous and stupid.

Re: I'm about to hammer ABC family down to the ground.

I've also noticed they use the same jokes...in Every. Single. Show.
I feel like the plot in every one of those tv programs are exactly the same!!

Re: I'm about to hammer ABC family down to the ground.

Shows like Friends, How I Met Your Mother, and The Big Bang Theory* should be right up my alley, because the characters are around my age, but I just can't get in to them.

Why?

They're all about dating, having s_x, and it seems the characters always have to be in a relationship.  Doesn't anyone have any values anymore and can't the characters be happy on their own?  I suppose Love + Relationships = Good TV Drama, but it's starting to get old.

*I have watched The Big Bang Theory on occasion, as I relate to the smart/geek/gaming culture, but that's the only aspect of the show I enjoy.

Re: I'm about to hammer ABC family down to the ground.

Shows like SBTB and Full House show veeeerrryyy early in the morning in my area. I really wish they'd show at a more appropriate time so I can watch the shows I grew up with instead of having to watch the news or 5-million hour long commercials.
