The file you tried to upload is not of an allowed type. Allowed types are gif, jpeg and png.

Yes, you must change the format. I saved my avatar one time and it saves as php. All you got to do is convert it to a Gif, Jpeg, or Png. It's very simple.

When you click save it will bring up a window that allows you to save the picture and either change the file to save it in, name the file what you want, i.e. avatar, and change the file type. The drop down menu to do that is under where you type the name of your file. Click on it and then click on the file type you wish to save it as.
