Oh trust me, we're 4 kids at home. Me and my brother were born at an early hour while my sisters were during the afternoon and the difference is huge. Me and my brother are the most active ones, bubbliest and we always wake up an an early hour. My sisters get tired easily and would rather just watch TV and they just get up after 10/11AM and arent as curious.
Just make sure he always has options but don't push him too much into doing something, just let him know he can try if he wants to.

Sooo....B's getting pretty huge! He's into pushing/pulling himself up on everything the past 2 weeks or so:



Don't mind the broken wall behind him. We've had some basement water issues here and T had to cut open the drywall to find the crack. That's not the worst of it though. My backyard is currently a wasteland because T's been working on digging a trench around the back of the house to fix the water issues. I feel like I'm living in Isengard lol.

Watching Daddy working on the backyard. Can't wait until it's all done and cleaned up - our place is currently the nastiest-looking house in the neighbourhood because of all the digging!


Sleeping in the crib in my old room at my parents' place. I went in to get him to go home and this is how we found him. Little sweetie was snoring away, we felt so bad waking him up!


And finally, the other day he got a hold of the finished bag of cereal, scattering crumbs ALL over my kitchen floor. Sigh. At least he was having fun!


**He had a fever the last two days, but this morning he's cheerful and feeling much better after sleeping through the night - sure does this Momma's heart good to see him happier and healthier!

These days he's saying "Mum" a lot, and says "Dad" or "Daddy" sometimes. He "dances" whenever he hears music (bobs up and down - haha he gets his dance skillz from his parents - I usually just bob around because I absolutely cannot dance!) which is especially funny when he's standing, holding on to something because his whole body gets into it!

He crawls around very quickly and pulls himself up on everything, bravely letting go and standing for a few seconds at a time. He'll walk with us, holding on to our hands.

He's a pretty good eater, and loves yogurt and fruit and to try to scavenge food off of our plates. He generally sleeps 11 hours through the night, which is a beautiful thing! He's usually a very happy, fun boy and I love watching him learn and grow. Such a blessing to our hearts and lives <3


And now I hear him awake - Mumma had better go fetch that sweet little boy out of his bed <3

Thank-you all for your kind comments on the photos and stories. I love to share what I can of sweet baby Benjamin with you all, as you've all become my sweet online friends here on OMD.

Fairykisses - I know, right! The time has flown by. I've been working on this past year's photobook on my Shutterfly account in the evenings, and it's so weird to look back on the pictures of him when he was a month old or less - he was so little and he's so huge now!

Angelfire - he doesn't quite yet stand up on his own, but he will push/pull himself up on something or someone, and then bravely let go and stand for a couple of seconds before falling down. He always looks pretty proud of himself when he does it!

Hayley - I tend to post a bunch of shots very randomly and not very frequently (I do the same thing with my blog - I think it drives my readers crazy, but I just always forget to update it since life itself is so busy!). And I know, right - him sleeping like that just melted my heart. Such a sweetheart.

Saffirelle, Bloody, Malu, Sierra, thank-you :) We think he's pretty stinkin' cute, too :)

Jenz and Rhea, like I mentioned, I love to share what I can of him with you all, knowing you take an interest in how he's doing. He's a member of the extended US OhMyDollz family :)

Rhea, the turtle pool was an awesome find - my sister was driving to my parents' place for a family get-together and saw it on the side of the road with somebody's garbage for the next day. I scooted back there with both my sisters and my parents' minivan and loaded it up - free pool! Bonus! :) Absolutely nothing wrong with it, either. It's amazing the things people throw out. I've gotten some pretty sweet deals off peoples' garbage piles - the Ikea coffee table I had been wanting, and a fully functioning lamp are two other things I've gotten!

Also, turns out that Benjamin, like Cookiesez's little Brynlee, has roseola this week. I didn't think anything of it when he had the fever, but yesterday he developed a rash on his body and then I remembered her comment about Brynlee having roseola, so I looked it up, and sure enough, it's what he's got. Must have picked it up from somebody in the church nursery on Sunday....sometimes the nursery makes me shudder because of all the germs floating around in there from all the kids coughing and sneezing and chewing on all the toys that the other kids have been already chewing on. Sigh. I guess it'll help boost his immune system....

He is doing better, but still a bit tired and sucky. The last two nights he's been up a few times to nurse, but I'm assuming it's just because he's been sick. My poor sweet baby <3

He's 11 months - his FIRST BIRTHDAY is coming up on August 24th...I'm trying to think of a fun way to celebrate it with my OMD friends :)

Funny you say that, we can slit the cost of the party on here because my daughters birthday is on August 25th so what do ya say? Lol!!!   I'll try to think of some things we/you could do on here.

Saffirelle: I will try to get lots of pics of him from his birthday. I'm planning a cake-smash with him around his birthday - we have a good friend who likes to take family pictures for our friends group, so she's agreed to shoot it, all I have to do is set it up :) I'm so excited for it!

For his RL birthday party, I'm keeping it low-key, just inviting our parents and siblings and T's grandfather. (Some people throw HUGE parties for their baby's first birthday, which I tend to think is a little bit silly, since at this age they don't understand it all and can't really appreciate that their mothers colour-coordinated EVERYTHING and served about 18 different kinds of perfectly matching foods lol). I did, however, have fun making invitations for it this weekend, designing and making them myself, and then I made my own envelopes to mail them in :) So fun.

My my he has grown! I still remember the first time you posted his picture when he was born~he looks just as cute, if not cuter! Just wanna squish him and never let go!

Also, great idea btw about the cake-smash party! I absolutely love watching vids on youtube of those! :D

And Happy Birthday Benji! Happy smashing! (It isn't 24th here yet, but I don't know your time-zone, so acknowledge this when it is his birthday? :P)

Awww darkelfqueen - I love that, it's so sweet :) I didn't realize how many people have posted on here already. Love it.

He didn't actually end up eating very much of the cake, he just destroyed it. I was kind of hoping he would get more icing on his face to make for some other fun pictures, but it was mostly just on his hands!
We threw him right into the bathtub after this, hahah :)
