I was fumbling with Cathy's keys to her room, not wanting to be that mom that snoops in her daughter's room, but feeling like there was no other choice. I had almost decided to do it when Char came up from behind me, nearly giving me a heart attack.
"You scared me!" I say, laughing a little.
"You shouldn't be playing with that," he murmured into my ear before gently plucking the keys out of my hands.
I sighed. "I'm a horrible mother arent I?"
"You're perfect. She's just.." he didnt finish the rest.
"No I'm not.."
"Come on, let's at least talk to someone else about this.. think about it.."
"If we are gonna talk, then we should talk to Val.. she might know something."
He nodded into my shoulder, breathing hard.
"I know, Char.. I know."
I closed my eyes. Hey, Val? It's Zoye. Can we drop by?
