I have a front yard, back yard, and what my family calls "the back forty".

left to right, my house, neighbor, the back forty. The entire thing is a garden! We have grown sunflowers, peas, a cherry tree, hops, broccoli, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, several kinds of lettuce, a watermelon (I believe it was called a sugar baby?), tomatillos, peppers, sorrel, zucchini, some other types of squash, basil, thyme I think, and one year we had a hybrid of zucchini and some other type of squash, I don't remember what it was called. Anyways, grapes, carrots, radishes, tomatoes, dill, asparagus, numerous flowers, onions, eggplants, green beans, and I think I'm missing something(s).

So yeah, my family grows plants. lol.

Oh my garden's grown so much since my last post on here! (and even more now again since I took these pictures last week Friday). The latest growth:

Remember the purple allium I had a picture of last time? This is what it looks like now, after it's done blooming. I think it's still beautiful, though!

My hostas have pretty purple flowers

This poppy randomly showed up in our garden and I was so happy about it. I do love poppies, and had been wanting some. I suppose a bird dropped a seed or something!

Wow snortmort your photos are stunning!!!
Well here are some more of mine!

Here I have a prickly pear that I started from seed I really hope it grows the fruit on it because my son loves to eat them.

Here is how my mango seed is doing, I now have more growing as well!

I also have some kiwi's that I got out of a kiwi, and that was very time consuming to get those little seeds out of the kiwi. I am also reusing the strawberry container :)

Very cool that you're starting all those fruits from seed, Fairykisses! I love the challenge of doing that and then the excitement when it actually works! It must have taken a long time to get all those kiwi seeds out! And also, you must have a nice warm climate for these plants to be able to grow at your house - they would only get maybe 3 months of appropriate climate here where we live!

Well I live in Atlanta Georgia so it gets pretty hot here during the summer.

The corn is getting so tall now!

We've got little tomatoes ripening on our Tumbling Tom tomato plants on the front porch - yum!

Beautiful, Fairy! The second one is morning glory, maybe? Oh man I love those but I will never make the mistake of planting them in my garden again - maybe only in a pot, because they are next to impossible to get rid of! haha.

God, this topic is really pretty~! I can almost sense the smell!

Neh girls, I need a lil' help~ I am (hopefully) enrolling college this September and, from what I've heard, the dorms are a bit... dead-ish... And I wanted to a have a little color there by having some flowers on my window (this is if I have a window but I'm guessing I will, if I look at the photos..).
Anyways, I'm not sure how to pick them and I want some flowers that are different rather than "daisies, roses, etc etc" and since it will be a small dorm, it will have to be small plants too.

So, I'm thinking of asking my mother for one of her orchidaes (they are so pretty, all white and the center in a pinkish lilac and then these bright yellow things sticking out) and a couple of days ago, I got some seeds of what she calls "India Flowers", I'll try to get a pic of what it looks like. But even so, do you girls know any small colorful flower that is easy to raise? As in, does well with most types of weather, etc etc and that can start to be planted around October or something?

Jang, are you allowed to grow an actual garden in a dorm? Probably not, would be my guess, so are you then looking for a windowsill flower? If so, african violets are very hardy and have flowers most of the time:

I've got no idea, really but in any case, I just really want to put something colorful. Since I absolutely hate artificial flowers...

But those are really nice and the purple is always a lovely color.
