I did. Read it, that is. And I, personally, don't really agree. I don't think America is that great, far from, but at the same time that I hate my country, I'm proud of my country. Don't even ask me why, I just am.

Well, I need to be quick, so Ill be brief.
I guess, the whole "empty threats" thing for one. I think that if enough people try, a millennium old country could fall (I raise you Prussa). Now, I don't really think enough Americans would do anything at the time such threats were said, but I do think that if we ever feel threatened enough, we could give a damn good fight.
And the Vietnam war, yes, it has nothing to do with us, but I'm sure there was a fair amount of people who were worried, even if only because terrible anxiety.
I do very much So agree with what you said about soldiers going into depression. That, I think, is very true.

Humm I do think we could have done something but remember...the US (at the time of ww1) didn't have any experience with warfare outside of their home front. We could have fought with lots of oompf but at what cost.
They won both WW1 and WW2 and those were big wars.
Had they been on the losing side, what happened in Vietnam would have happened earlier. And Vietnam wasn't all that big.

I'm against all war. I think it's useless. You should know that this is also coming from the daughter of a soldier who has been deployed to Afghanistan from the US to fight against his own people when she was 5.
So whatever I say is coming from that.

What you said, I would put as patriotism and there's nothing wrong with that. I think everyone should support their own country, however, there is a point where I think it should stop.

Okay not going to reply to what ever reply anyone else has to this :D I'm going to get ahead of myself.

It's about this really really smart hardworking girl named Misaki(?) but she's really strict especially with trying to protect the girls at her school. She secretly works in a Japanese Maid Cafe where one day her sort of rival Usui (who's also really smart but a flirt and a troublemaker making Misaki dislike him.) finds out about Misaki's secret so Misaki kinda feels like she's somehow being blackmailed (tho not really haha Usui doesn't rlly care.). so yeah it starts from there.
