I decide to go back inside. I see the girl who just got Matched (Kendra) as they call my name."Mackenzie Taylor". I walk past her and say "Nice dress." I smile as I step up onto the podium. I smile my biggest, whitest, brightest smile and flutter my eyelashes -- fake ones, of course, but the Society doesn't have to know about that. A picture of him appears on the screen. They call his name. "Christopher Coombes." I look up at the screen. A boy with blonde hair and blue eyes is smiling at me. I smile, too. But in his picture I see something different. Something he shouldn't have. A wristwatch. I know this isn't his artifact because the officials who take the pictures don't allow artifacts to be brought in. He's a rebel. Like me. I look over the picture again. He's perfect. As the screen fades black and everyone applauds, I turn to the crowd and wave and blow kisses. I smile widely as I take my seat, and turn to Ariana. Her name will be called next. "He's perfect, Ariana. And yours will be, too. I know it." I smile, and we both smile back, and everything is perfect.

I take a breath as they call my name. "Ariana Kingston." I get up to the podium and smile, smile smile. I bet my Match will be wondering if this is my real hair color. It is, but most people think I'm lying. He'll be happy to know I'm not a fake. Unlike that purple grape over there.(Navain) They call his name. My heart is beating. "Harry Winston." I turn around. The entire room has gone so silent you could hear a feather drop. Harry has always been one of my biggest crushes. He's in this room. I turn to meet his gaze as he joins me on the podium. He's incredibly happy; in the background I see Mackenzie beaming at me. He whispers to me. "You're so beautiful, Ariana." I smile. "Thanks. You look amazing." The screen goes black and the crowd erupts into a huge round of applause. He takes my hand and we walk back to my table together. This is perfect.

I watched the rest of the ceremony silently. I wasn't in the mood for meeting my match anytime soon and...Gabe left. To be honest, I felt lonely.

Dilly and i look as "Ariana Kingston" walk off the stage. Turning to Navain i was happy that she didn't notice the  stun i just did. Lucky me.

"we should go." I whisper to  Dilly. He nods and put his arm around my shoulder. He doesn't know when to quit does he.

"Looks like its time for me to go." I smile at Navain. "It was nice meeting you."

((Okay. as long as no one's upset or anything..))

I laughed. "I must be see-through if you know that already." I said, giving her a little push too. "I'm hoping you'll help with that too, Zy. Can't do it without my lovely partner in crime."

Felicia:
My parents and I managed to head home. To be honest, I didn't see why I had to attend the whole party. I know who my match is ( how I wish I didn't) so there was no reason seeing all the ... clueless naiive happy couples getting together.

Putting my hair down and changing out of my dress, I noticed the phone numbe Gabe had jotted down and smiled...Maybe...I should...call him...It's probably too late, though.

Navain:
We headed home as soon as everyone was matched. My mom came and put an arm around my shoulder and my dad did the same on the other side.
"How do you like your match?" Mom asked.
"...I know him."
"Really? Even better!" My dad exclaimed. "Did he go to school with you in Acadia?"
"No, we just happened to bump into each other one day and since then, he's always bothered me."
"You're getting married to your...bully?" My dad asked, confused.
"He's not a bully per se...but...He's a bully."
"Is this like something that ahs to do with Derdeths?" Mom asked looking at my dad. I eyed them and I think they got the hint.
"You're dad bothered me too when I was you're age. I used to hate him with a passion. I always thought I'd get to leave my home on my matching ceremony just so that I could stay away from him. But...I got matched with him." Mom said.
"So...does he bother you?"
"Hey! I'm still here." Dad said.
"Sometimes. But I still love him for it."
"So you're saying there's no way of backing out right?" I asked. Mom made a grim face, shaking her head.

I sighed and entered the house, going to my room. I put my head down on the pillow and pulled out the microcard. I played around with it and finally decided to look at it.

((I guess we're ending the day soon? Any idea what's gonna happen after?

Gabriel:
I chuckle to myself as my phone buzzes when I reach my house. I smile at the text, and write back, "Ooooh, Miss Felicia, isn't it a bit scandalous to text another man after your Matching? :))" I add on the smiley as an afterthought, hoping she won't take the text too seriously.
I hum as I go in my house and lock the door, inspecting the hand-print mural on my wall as I walk past before going to change into more comfortable clothes.

Gabe:
I laugh at her reply, "Tell that to Society, haha. But no, you didn't wake me. I just got home, actually."

(( Ahaha, haven't read the book, I kind of want to now though. But yeah, hopefully we can make this up as we go along. ))

Gabe:
"I like to look at the stars, most people don't bother me if I show my hair :P But, yeah I do a lot of the time, whether it's staying out or splattering walls in paint or singing way too loudly. How about you? Why are you up at this un-citizenly hour?"

Gabe:
I frown as I read her reply, "Oh, that's too bad. Wish I could just whisk you away from your terrible Match."
I send it before rereading and face-palming myself, "-Piss, I did not think that through, like not in a creepy stalker way more like a hang-out and forget about your unforgiving lifestyle-ish way."
"This whole texting thing is not working out for me, all I'm doing is rambling and digging an even deeper hole for myself."
