As angelfire said, you buy gift vouchers with fee'z.  Once you have bought your gift vouchers, to give another player a gift you need to go to their page.  When you are on their "loft" tab, look just underneath the room being shown for the gift box.  Click on the gift box to see the selection of gifts.  Once you pick out with gift you want to give, click on "give" directly underneath the gift you want to give.  A box will come up asking you to confirm that you want to the send the gift.  Click okay and the gift will be sent and your goodness will increase. :)
