It just struck me that the new layout reminds me of those famous haut couture fashion brand name sites, like Dior. Big pictures and not a lot of writing. Coincidence?

Well.. I wish we were able to read the news. It will be easier and we don't have to come to the board every time.

For me it looks like they over did it with the front page. It does look great and professional, but it doesn't matches the rest of the pages, the style looks different. I would be okay with the new home page if they re-do the other pages to have the same feel.
As for the new news section, I'm not really liking it, I think they wanted to make it look simpler, but the results came out to be the opposite. I'm hoping that they're just testing out the news section.

I don't like the fact that there seems to be no more about fashion shows etc, on the news page. I don't always remember to check the board on the right day so I will probably miss some of the fashion shows...

I might have gotten used to this new look, but I'm hating it all the more with the added clicking, added steps to just do what needs to be done. I have some dolls that all I do with them is: Log on, get their DB's then do their training. Three steps, maybe 4? Now too many. My doll I have on the French server as I am just now logging her in, it appears it is the old layout still, or at least in how you log in. (which the French server & everything there is a "whole 'nother story." )

Also, I don't really think it matters whether we like it or not: it's probably here to stay.

I don't like the layout but The news section I could probably get used to. I dunno. I just don't like the front page.

One other thing that bugs me about the news section, is that its all cramped together. They could have at least put some white space between each new topic. And then when you scroll down its empty (well may be the page will fill up with more news). But overall the news section does not look appealing.

I agree, the new home page does look very professional... but all the pretty animated pictures in the world are not worth the trade-off in functionality.

Every "new & improved" addition means more & more clicking AND more & more time is required to navigate through the same basic tasks... meaning less & less time to actually enjoy the site.

I'm all for positive change, but many of the new features are having a negative impact on my OMD experience.
