North Pole Quest

I seem to be online while they're uploading it so a new post may go up shortly. Have you guys seen the new winter quest? It looks interesting.

Cutting and pasting the news post from the french site
It's just been run through google translate so the English might be a bit odd.

sarah wrote:

Hello girls! Start your winter team offers to conquer the Far North with this new quest OhMyDollz! reporter Animal Play and discover the wide open spaces, wildlife and marvel exploring the white paradise! It will offer you many surprises ...

Most people dread the winter and cold. Me is that I look forward to, and what I'm looking hard. Today, after months or years of preparation, I finally touch my rêve.Ma camera is ready, my bag is curly, I fly to the North Pole for a long journey. To start I will join a tribe of Inuit, for several weeks, I will live alongside them. They teach me to endure the cold and survive in difficult conditions. Then they bring me on the ice where I could observe the animals. Our trips together to stop here, since I will settle in a boat trapped in ice, to live closer to nature.

Following this quest, you have the choice between two purposes: - Turn back: and you will get a boat interior design with cozy furniture, a male model "Inuit" ... - Enter the ice palace: and you will earn decorative fairy palace of ice, a domestic dragon white male dummy "King Snow, "an outfit" Snow Queen "... If you want after one of two purposes you can access the second end by paying a replay of 150 Fee'z. quest "North Pole" will be available on Monday, December 10 OhMyDoll until noon! Very good week OhMyDollz!

Re: North Pole Quest

First question & answer:

The North Pole is colder than the South Pole:

FALSE

Second question answer:  PARROT

third question:

Which French movie maker and adventurer made several movies about the Far North?

NICOLAS VANIER

4.Ice Shelf melting question.... the answer:  3/4 of it
bonus item for that question:  http://us.ohmydollz.com/img/big/59259.png

5. Consequences of the Ice Shelf melting: the temperatures will rise (last answer)-- (I got it wrong the first try & honestly I am not sure that is a truly correct answer according to the "non OMD world")

6.  According to arctic experts, the ice shelf will totally melt in the summer in...
At least in year 3000
Surely around 2500
---->At the end of the century, at the latest<---------
CORRECT ANSWER

the choices they give for the answer is totaly off according to what I found when doing a search.  The search on Bing said it would melt in 4 years so by choosing the third option was only a guess on my part & it turned out to be correct.

I'm doing this on one of my daughter's dolls FAEFLIGHT (she's grounded from the com.puter right now so I will only be able to do one ending which this is the one I've chosen:

http://us.ohmydollz.com/img/quetes/vignettes_objectif/niveau_903.png

I had 257 DB to start with & now have 52 DB left so that first part ended up costing: 205 DB just like the person on the French server said.

sorry for a confusing messed up looking post.  I wanted to do this on another doll first before doing it on my main & I'm doing it while trying to get ready to go to the DR.

I'm kinda iffy on it right now, maybe this afternoon I'll be more "into it."

Okay..... that really cute golden sleigh... I NEED that

Also, at the French forum here is a post from a player who has done one part of the quest:

Well, I just do it with a fairy: $ 205 without the second end
balance: I do not regret Series is splendid, I love, no room, no matter what profession but already the huskies The rene, the guy, furniture, wigs, what I like least: the blue and white fairy has a funny head! good but the rest is perfect in my eyes, I will be forced to take Feez dollz my main quest so I love this, thank you to all the team

Re: North Pole Quest

I'm happy to have this quest! I had plans to create a snow room for my main account, so this is perfect :) Thanks, Feerik!

Also many thanks to Sierra, without whose answers I couldn't have gotten all the mini riddles correct.

Also also : I thought penguins only lived in the South Pole, no? This is certainly not a factual quest in any way! But it's pretty, so we'll just let it slide this time.... :)

Re: North Pole Quest

Obviously after going through the items in FAEFLIGHT 's loft, I NEED all that stuff so I will be doing it when I get home.

It baffles me that at the French forums, it seems that they frown upon guides & sharing the answers but turn a blind eye to the massive & overly abusive voting practices.  I'll share anything in a quest like this to help others.  I think that makes our community closer in that we want to help each other.

Re: North Pole Quest

Eep.. This adventurelooks lovely, but I don't want to spend all my $$$ on it in case there is a Christmas adventure in a couple of weeks time. =/
Or do you think this -is- the Christmas adventure and there won't be another one this year?

And thanks for the updates and the question guides, AnyaMalfoy and Sierradane!

No this wont be the Christmas quest. The quest will be about Christmas just like the Halloween quest.

Re: North Pole Quest

North Pole Quest Guide

Step 1
My dream: the North pole!
Most people don't like winter and its cold weather. I long for winter very year. Today, after months and even years of preparation my dream is coming true.

My camera is ready, my luggage is packed, I'm flying to the north pole for a long journey. First I'm gonna meet an Inuit tribe and spend several weeks with them. They will teach me how to cope with the cold and survive in such difficult conditions. Then we will lead me to ice fields where you can see animals. Our journey together will stop there since I will settle in a boat trapped in ice to be close to nature.

http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk220/lilmariposa25/quests/step1-2.png

The North Pole is colder than the South Pole? False
Reward: http://us.ohmydollz.com/img/big/59190.png

Step 2
Realization...
It's even colder than in my dreams. Nature defies this hostile world, the landscape is absolutely breathtaking. One doesn't know what white is before having seen an ice desert.

Alone with my dogs and sled, I realize how beautiful nature can be far away from humanity. Loneliness helps me to put things into perspective and think about life... What impact do my actions have on nature? Aren't I more happy here than in my loft? Shouldn't animals' survival instinct be a model for us all?

http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk220/lilmariposa25/quests/step2-1.png

Which animal doesn't live in the Arctic?Parrot
Reward: http://us.ohmydollz.com/img/big/59252.png

Step 3
Amarok
After a long journey all on my own, I met Amarok the Inuit boy I had managed to get in touch with before I left. As soon as I saw him, I was stricken by his beauty, he fits so perfectly in this gorgeous landscape. Maybe I felt somewhat lonely after all...

He leads me to his ice village. Village might not be the exact term, it's more like a couple of igloos and a few dears. Amarok tells me he lives in a nomad community, they move according to the season to live on hunting.

Among them, I feel peaceful. Simple tasks can seem insurmountable, but this people is a picture of happiness. I must say, they find me amusing... They call me Abequa, which means "Stay at home", since each time I put my feet on the ground I fall over. I need to make progress...

http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk220/lilmariposa25/quests/Step3-1.png

Which French movie maker and adventurer made several movies about the Far North?Nicolas Vanier
Reward:http://us.ohmydollz.com/img/big/59203.png

Step 4
A long way to go
According Amarok, I am ready. I have assimilated all the basic knowledge to survive in this hostile universe. So we go to the ice fled where I join the boat in which I can watch Arctic animals.

The journey is long, it lasts several days, the more we travel to the north, the more the landscape becomes marvelous. Early in the morning, I watch the aurora borealis. I really feel there is something magic here... Something I can't understand... Something strange...

I only have one thing in mind... Penetrate this secret.

http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk220/lilmariposa25/quests/step4-1.png

How much of the ice shelf has melted the last 30 years? 3/4 of it
Reward: http://us.ohmydollz.com/img/big/59259.png

Step 5
Emotions on the ice floe
When I woke up this morning, I knew my travel with Amarok was going to end soon after. And a few hours later, as I felt the ice crunch under my feet, I saw a boat far away. It was trapped in the ice yet it looks reassuring to me.
Before he left me, Amarok wanted to give me a last present. Without a second thought, I followed him, camera in hand...
To film helps me have a different point of view on the world. As if what I see behind my camera wasn't real... If I wasn't holding Amarok's hand so tight, I would not have believed what I saw. In front of me, there was a white bear, huge, majestic playing with its little bears. Not far from there, penguins are jumping in icy water, such a moving ballet... The orca next to them doesn't seem to mind that agitated tribe... But an old walrus watches them suspiciously. A magnificent snow fox comes towards us slowly... I'm so moved to tears by the scene... As I was going to put down my camera to watch this amazing sight, I spot a luminous spiral that intrigues me...
Amarok turns to me, he seems baffled and even worried when I ask him what it is... He can't see anything... Oh! I think I've gone crazy... But before I lock myself up, I must be sure...

http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk220/lilmariposa25/quests/step5-1.png

According to specialists, what might be a consequence of the melting of the ice shelf? Temperatures will fall
Reward: http://us.ohmydollz.com/img/big/59234.png

Step 6
A world of light
I approach suspiciously and touch the luminous center on my fingertips, the light I can only see through my camera... It's not visible to the naked eye but I can feel heat, as if the air was thicker under my fingers... Amarok watches me, all astonished... True that to find yourself in a desert landscape with some girl you don't know who is trying to catch air might be somewhat worrying. But i don't care so I close my eyes and pass through the light!

What a strange sensation! i feel so good... So peaceful... When I open my eyes, I discover a sparkling world.. i turn around but Amarok and the animals have disappeared... Where am I

Little by little fear turns to wonder... There are flowers on the ground! Special flowers with luminous hearts... On my left side, I can see huge fields with trees plenty of crystal fruit... In front of me, there is a bridge upon a glowing river that leads to a majestic ice palace! Yet... I have the feeling I shouldn't go there... I should be happy to have seen such a magic world...

As I was going to go back to where I came from, a little voice called me.

http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk220/lilmariposa25/quests/step6-1.png

According to arctic experts, the ice shelf will totally melt in the summer in...At the end of the century, at the latest
Reward: http://us.ohmydollz.com/img/big/59298.png

Step 7a (which is the one with the little fairy girl)
I turn back
Who does she think she is? And is she real? I must be ill and feverish to see what I'm seeing and live what I'm living...

I decide to go back to where I come from and look for Amarok. I find the luminous circle straight away, I pass through it despite the fairy's supplications. "Stayyyyyyyy! Don't goooooo! I've been waiting for you for so loooong! ".

I will never know what there is behind the ice walls of that palace... I'll never know neither if I haven't invented it all... What I know today is that after all these months alone with animals of the Arctic pole, my report is eventually ready. I've launched my carrier!

http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk220/lilmariposa25/quests/step7a-1.png

150 Feez to continue to 7b or vice versa

Step 7b (with the ice dragon on it)
I follow her
I follow her and cross the river on the bridge, without a word. My steps seem all light on the snow, I feel free...

When we arrive in front of the huge door of the palace, the little fairy starts singing! A powerful, resonant melody comes out of her little body, tears come to my eyes. Then, suddenly, the door opens, the master of the house was waiting for us. Tall, blond, intense look, he is as gorgeous as his palace is splendid... With a charming smile he "Welcomes me home"!

He was right, his palace became mine for months after that... I spent wonderful moments with him, magic moments... I was fascinated by his frosty beauty... Yet I knew life her was ephemeral. On the first day of spring, this whole fairy world vanished...

Re: North Pole Quest

Random question: Is there going to be a Christmas quest after this?
I wonder this, since I would love to do the quest and it looks very winter-like(great for last year's ice palace room) but I won't have any money left over if I did the quest....which would be a bummer if there was a Christmas quest, since those are amazing
quoi

I would think that there will be a Christmas related quest or a replay of a past holiday/winter themed quest (we've had several so there are quite a few that it might be).

I would suggest seeing if you can complete any of the free feez offers if you really want to do both (just in case).

Like you, I initially thought there were two new rooms from this quest...but, no.  There are no rooms with this quest.  Just lots of stuff. :(

I believe we have a Christmas-based adventure every year, so I would think there would be one this year.

That's so confusing, it's worded to sound like we get a boat room or something at the end. =/ Oh well. I still like the stuff.

Now see, I wouldn't have known that.   Thanks for that info Historygeek.  Wait til they have an Adventure centered around Cosmetologists: I'm sure one or two or maybe more might post about things that are not how they should be.

The thing that kinda.... threw me off?  irked me?  (enter other emotion here)... was the incorrect answers according the the 'non OMD world.'  (which is why if I can, I'll do an Adventure on another doll before my main if there is not a guide up yet)

As for not having 2 new rooms, with two endings you'd think there would have been.  In the Winter area, there's room for another room & definitely room in the Vacation area near the yacht.  I know what a lot of people might be redecorating a room or two in the next few days =)

I understand why with the one ending there isn't a new room. The stuff from the ice-y ending fits well with the Ice Palace. The other ending...well, a new room would be nice. (or a salary) I think that when we are offered a male doll we don't get a room or a new job.

i was hoping this quest to reward a 7$$$ salary, as we had 2 of these in a row, if my memory isn't failing...
right when my alt had the $$$ for a full quest... sad

For anyone who has the Ice Palace room and is looking for some new items, this would be a great quest for that.

The real-life info about the Ice Shelf melting is rather depressing, though.

Isn't it, though? I found a few of the facts to be a bit...scary.

But, those cute polar bears are one of the main reasons I did do this quest...they are very, very cute!
