I tried to keep a little distance. If this were a real battle, I would have had to kill him, but since we were just sparring, I used my other chain to hold his arm away from me, "Well since that's the real question, I wonder what the answer will be?"

This wasn't a real fight and I didn't want to hurt him really, so I decided to play a little and let go allowing him to pull me a little closer. Just briefly. "I don't think I want to hurt you either."
