Step 1: Welcome to the Nordics!

Phew! Finally there!
Having just entered the door, I throw away my suitcase and fall on the sofa whose leather softened by generations of Dollzian behinds joyfully welcomes me. Uncle Hans has been really awesome to lend me it for the holidays! A lil' stay in a lost place on the Norwegian beachside? A guaranteed change of scene despite the freezing cold. By the way there's nothing better to warm up than a good Norwegian bath! I absolutely have to try it out. B-b-but wait a second, is it some kind of joke? The bath is OUTSIDE? This is madness, I'm not going to take a bath in the middle of the frozen countryside surrounded by bears! Alright, that's a small issue. There's no other bathroom in the house and if I don't want to end up washing my hair in the kitchen's sink I have no other choice than to give it a try and hope I won't be turned into an icy Dollz.
Conclusion: taking a bath in the middle of nature, under the starry sky is almost magic. Buuut now that I'm there, the hardest will be to get out of it!

Step 2: A stroll through the surroundings

After an excellent night, I feel ready to start my day as a tourist. Uncle Hans made me a list of things in the region that I should't miss out on. I fetch my bag and hiking shoes, let's go! I have walked a lot but it was worth it. You feel a little dizzy on top of these cliffs but it's a stunning view. I wonder if I could see whales from here?I wanted to return in town for lunch but it was impossible to find my way with this damn map. It's way too old, the directions make no sense! I'm sure I have already seen that tree before. And these bloody crows look like they are making fun of me. And I'm hungry. Let's face it, I'm going round in circles.

Step 3: A strange village

Finally! A village! Next time I'll take a GPS with me! What a curious village. These shacks don't seem really modern to me. The people are dressed really weirdly, some chickens are freely strolling and it strongly smells like fish.Everybody is looking at me! I've got to say that with my style I really look like the typical tourist. I must look desperate because a kind lady moves towards me but I can't understand a word of what she says. I eventually manage to explain her that I got lost by gesticulating! She gives me a bright smile and shows me which way to go. Since my teeth are chattering, she gives me a warm fur coat for the journey. I hope it's not real fur!

Step 4: Plunged into darkness

No town in sight. And certainly not Uncle Han's house, its soft sofa and full fridge.Would she have shown me the wrong way? I thought I had been clear though. And it starts raining now! Am I cursed or something?I ran to take shelter under this rock, if I don't want to get wet I have to move back as far as - Hey, it's actually a cave!Since I'm stuck here, I can as well do some exploration. I try not to stumble too much while examinating the walls: it's strange, I think I've seen a boat? Caught in ice? I think I have already seen that kind of boat in books. They are Viking boats, it's unbelievable! And wouldn't it be a gleam down there? I have to take a look!

Step 5: Wotan's Forge

The cave keeps getting deeper and deeper. The ceiling of the tunnel is so low that I have to be doubled up! I am losing myself in speculation when I arrive in a gigantic room with lava flowing along the walls. I can hear over the continuous roar the sound of a metallic and regular hammering. I soon see an open building full of tools that immediately reminds me of a forge. There I find the blacksmith who greets me and I understand the ridiculous height of the tunnel: he barely reaches my chin! Welcome , he says with a gruffy voice. I was awaiting you.He knows my name and isn't even slightly surprised to see me? -I think I'm a bit lost. Could you show me the way? -Me? No I can't but I can take you to someone who will be able to.

Step 6: The Tree of Life

Green and golden light everywhere, the rustling of leaves in the wind, where did I once again end up? Everywhere I look I only see greenery and strange creatures. I'm on a mossy carpet at the foot of a giant tree. A tree so gigantic that I can't even see half of it when I look up! As I climb its huge roots spreading across the ground, I notice a pond of water so pure that I don't dare to put my hands in it. And then a voice oddly resonates in my head and I look up to find three women staring at me, beautiful and strange at the same time.We are Urd, Verdandi and Skuld. Step 7A: Asgard

I'm not sure I understood it all but it seems like this is about something far greater than me. So I accept this great honor and I cross the Bifrost bridge towards Asgard where my father, uncles, aunts and even the deceitful Loki await me for a magical feast. I meet Thor the god of thunder - that one I already heard about - and so many other whose name I forget straight away. But they all welcome me as a member of the family. While we celebrate an old one-eyed man mysterisouly smiles at me and two crows land on his shoulders.Could I be dreaming?
