My parents give me the money for me to buy a new dress and they organise a meal and activities for me and my friends, we eat cake and I get some presents. I know that they mean well and they try their best to make me happy but this year I would rather have something special, somethin unique! But apparently it won't be this year. My mom just brought me the shopping envelope... so let the ritual begin.

Step 2: Surprising shopping

I'm heading to Dollz Center where I will buymy birthday outfit and the matching accessory. After checking out the different stores in the center, I finally decide to go with a beautiful dress I spotted in Lady Sarah's store. So I try it on and come out of the cabin to check myself out in the mirror from a little distance when suddenly, I am facing myself wearing a playsuit. The girl surely has the same look of surprise on her face as I do right now! I think I just found my perfect doppelganger.

Step 3: A unique meeting

We just keep staring at each other until she finally breaks the ice. Her name is Elena, she's my age and she is abolutely adorable. We're having some ice cream together so we can talk and even the ice cream seller is convinced that we are twins. We come to talk about ur bithdays and imagine our surprise when we found out that we were even born on the same exact day! There is no other explanation for this than accepting that we are twins, which also makes sense because we have both been adopted. But Elena was adopted by a high class family, not like me. And that's when the idea struck us.

We spend the rest of the afternoon talking about our lives so that we can take eachothers places without suspicion. The plan is to escape before dawn. Elena will become freyja and I will become Elena for one day.We meet in a park, change our clothes and go to the other house. I'm not disappointed, this house is a dream. Excited and terrified at the same time, I slip into Elenas bed. What if anyone finds out? But I eventually fall asleep between the satin sheets.

Step 5: Waking up like a princess

As I woke up, it took me a while to realize where I was. The bedroom is great but it's also full of balloons, soft toys and banners with the letters "Happy Birthday". I didn't even have time to get out of bed when an extremely classy woman enters the room with a tray full of delicious sweets. This must be Elena's mom. She puts the tray on the bed, hugs me tenderly and whishes me the best of birtdays. I feel a little ache in my heart as I think about my own mom, but soon enough, I come back into this surreal reality.My "mom" then announces that there's an outfit for me waiting in my walk-in closet (whooot, I have a walk-in closet?!) and then join her in the living room.

Step 6: A princess for a day

In the living room that is just as wonderfull as the bedroom, there are three girls waiting for me. They must be the friends Elena told me about. The mom then tells us to pretty up as much as possible during the day, because tonight we were going to have a surprise. So we wander from hairstylist to manicure, esthetician and even a masseur. This is a dream coming true for me. I could never have afforded this in a lifetime with my tiny pocket money. Elena's friends are a bit snobby but very nice as well. They do their best to take care of me. When we get home to the villa, there's something wrapped in the driveway. Holy cow, this is a brandnew car! Well at least it will be mine for a whole day. This really is the best day of my life!

Step 7: On my little cloud

I still can't believe this is happening to me. The morning was wonderful but it seems that Elena's mother isn't done with her surprises yet. As we got back to the villa, the living room had been transformed into a photo shooting sudio and there's a photographer who makes me feel like a starlet on a shoting for a cover page of some famous magazine. After the shooting with Elena's friends I am exhausted but I feel ike I'm floating on a little cloud. I hope she's as delighted of her experience as I am. As of now, no one suspects anything. It will be hard to return back to reality, especially since we will have to tell our families that we met each other. It's not an every day experience to find your twin sister! Later in the afternoon, we get into the cabriolet of Elena's mom who will drive us to the last surprise of the day!

Step 8: A dream of a birthday

I'm a little worried. Elena told me her parents like to invite her to her favourite restaurant on her birthday, the "Sarah Délice", but we just drove right past it. We're heading to a party hall, I can see there's a lot of peoples. The decoration is magnificent but there's something strange, a big curtain cuts the hall in half. I'm told to stand in front of the curtain and Elena's mom suddenly lets the fabric fall down. I'm now face to face with an all so surprised Elena... and my parents and friends! "Surpriiiiiise!!", everyone says. Our parents then explain to us that they recently got to know about us being twins and managed to get in touch and decided to make it a surprise for our birthday. In a discrete moment, we switch or clothes back and become ourselves again to enjoy the party and the new life we will have together. This is the best of all birthday presents.
