I've started to notice this trend lately on the french site of "personalizing" your whole page rather than just your about me section. In case you don't know what I am talking about then here are some examples:
(these are from Spider-butler's page - sorry not sure how to link) I also think if you browse her friend you may find more examples.
(this is from tiimtiima's page)
Is this type of editing against the rules for OMD or not? If not, does anyone know the codes for this? The part that confuses me is where you post the code to 'edit' your page.
Thanks. I would ask this on the french server yet I don't speak french

That used to be available for everyone to do but since the new version, they removed it.
This however:
was done by making the wallpaper they upload look like that. I'm trying to make mine look something like that too but I'm a beginner in designing stuff like that so I can't make you one You could ask around though. Someone somewhere should be able to
Oh really? I had no idea you could do that before since I've never seen it until now. I just like the idea of being able to change the colour of the pink to something else - like a pattern.
And oh no, I'm not asking someone to make me one but how to do it so I can learn myself (if still possible :p)
A player on this server who uses this kind of customization of her page is Triskell. She's French, but she speaks English and maybe you can ask her for help.
Okay so I found out that the width of the screen is about
2720 Pixels
the height I just did a big number.
5000 Pixels
The OMD sign is about 400 Pixels away from the starting point and starts from 50 Pixels down.
hope this helps in some way :)
Oh okay I'll ask triskell thanks
And Thanks for the dimensions but I think it's a different type of HTML rather then a background (it over laps over the OMD logo)
Oh true. I didn't notice that ^^
Anyway...the demensions don't work >.< I just tried it and it didn't work the great on my computer. The picture became smaller than it was
Personally I don't like it because it removes the "search" option when trying to search another player. And I don't like the one player's page that has the embedded music playing when you go to her page. It's loud & annoying. When I return her votes I never leave a message since I don't want to hear the song. I'm sure if I had a feature that played a song that others didn't like, they'd complain too.
and.... pssstt.....
The correct spelling of the word is ALLOWED. The word ALOUD means:
a·loud
[uh-loud]
adverb
1.
with the normal tone and volume of the speaking voice, as distinguished from whisperingly: They could not speak aloud in the library.
2.
vocally, as distinguished from mentally: He read the book aloud.
3.
with a loud voice; loudly: to cry aloud in grief.

I didn't even notice music since my phone was silent. I do agree the not having the search option is annoying and so is random music but if done right (probably lots of practice) I think it looks nice. I'm not a fan of the second example- it was just an example.
And oh oops didn't even clue into that haha. I pronounce both words the same when I say them ( english is not my main language) so it get's confusing
Both words are pronounced the same but just different spelling and meaning :)
I tried new demensions. using my screen resolution this time. And that didn't work either. I was so close too
Plus the dimensions would be different for every single computer. Since the screen may be wider or longer for different people. If that makes sense to you
Update:
I messaged Triskell and this is what she said:
"I use html for change my page. In fact, you have to "examiner l'élément" I don't know how is in the english keyboard. You do right click, and you'll have this :
Tell me if you can open the picture.
What interests us is the code in green. This is the name of the bloc that you want change. With it, we add the html code. Like it :
<style>#barrejaune {background-image: url("link of picture") !important;}</style>
You just put "{background-image: url("link of picture") " if you can take a picture. For #contenu2012, it's impossible. I hope I help you. If you have any question, i'm here :) "
So you basically have to edit this code that pops up when you press ctrl+shift+C. That is all I know so far.
UPDATED:
Okay I played around a bit with the HTML and I was able to figure out how to do this:
The only thing I haven't figured out is how to save these changes. Triskell said something in a recent message about you must save/update the html in your about me for this to work but I couldn't understand. I'm going to message around a bit on the french server to see what I'm missing out on. Because I'm sure some people would like to know how to at least change their font colour on their page ;)
