So, I was skimming through the old Feerik OMD blogs, and I saw that in may, there was a girl who got into the top three in the Fashion Show with THE EXACT SAME OUTFIT.
So that got me thinking, do you even try to follow the themes?
And, do you vote based on the theme?
Just curious.
I only enter the FS if it's a theme that appeals to me or one of my dollz specifically, and I definitely try to follow the theme. I also vote only for those dollz who are trying to be on theme. If I see 3 dollz together that aren't on theme, I'll hit the refresh button, and then if it happens again before I can refresh again, I'll usually just stop voting for the day.
Well, us mods can disqualify anyone who is not dressed on theme, so I would suggest that you all do follow the theme :)
I think I know who your talking about xemo. I don't remember her name but I noticed her too. I didn't vote for her.
I vote only for the dollz that follow the theme, the ones that i like the most.

I do this as well.
I almost never join the FS. If I do that's when I usually vote. I forget what the theme is anyway so I can never tell if they are following it or not. That's why I don't vote
I rarely enter the FS anymore but when I do I go by the theme.
The last one I entered, I stupidly did so quickly & at 4am in the morning and by doing so, I had missed something I was going to wear "visibly" beneath something and was disqualified. Not only did I receive a PM from a moderator stating that, but I got one from Sarah as well. As for the "forbidden items," I turned one doll in to a different mod that was wearing a very visibly black flower .... but that doll remained in the Fashion Show. So that kinda burned me on entering. Maybe a future upcoming theme might catch my attention and maybe... one day... I might end up in at least 15th place!
Also, the FS has always been something that I'd like to win but I know I won't since I feel that sometimes the ones who do win only do so by ways that might fan the flames on a long controverseyed subject.

Just to let you know, when someone gets disqualified by a moderator the system automatically sends out a note from Sarah. We also send out a note saying exactly why you've been disqualifed because the one from Sarah doesn't say specifically what ya did wrong :) Also, when someone is disqualified you are able to re-enter the fashion show. Most girls do change their outfits so they aren't breaking any of the rules, but there are some that just don't care and keep entering with the same outfit. I've had to go in and disqualify some girls 3 or 4 times within the same show.
I always follow the theme, that's what's fun about the FS, & seeing what approach others have taken. The ones not following the theme do kind of ruin it & the disqualifying has bettered it a bit but I've still seen dollz who haven't followed the theme or have forbidden objects remaining in the top 15 right up to the end. It's kind of frustrating.
I commented on that doll with the same outfit on the podium twice in a row, but no else showed any interest, until now.
I'd love to see some kind of encouragement on the forum for the people who do try. Someone opened a discussion where you could post pics of the FS outfits that you like the 'Pearls of the FS' but almost no one took part & it fizzled out almost immediately, the poor girl got no encouragement. I miss Gothgirl's review but same thing there, very few people discussed it.
I did the same as Sierradane once, I turned in a doll to a mod - she was in something like 12th place & had a forbidden object, she wasn't disqualified & came in 4th.

Please keep turning them in. If one mod does nothing please feel free to ask why they didn't disqualify her and if you're not happy contact another mod. It's possible like me over the past two weeks they've been away.
The one I turned in, I did so to a newer mod since I thought perhaps some of the more "seasoned" mods might be over-burdened with PM's. Can't say I even received an answer. (I looked through 16 pages of PM's, and only replies or PM's were from the 3 "more seasoned" mods).
What I'd like to know (and it's not to be "un-unqualified" in the future):
How does a doll become automatically disqualified for an object that is hidden when another doll has a forbidden item showing and is not automatically disqualified?
(and I learned my lesson, be more careful or slower when planning your FS outfit)

Ok it's good to know we can do that, thanks!

Because the Mods are only human and may well miss what you have spotted.

So in my case, which I admit I wasn't paying attention enough and it was my own fault. was it first noticed by a mod or by an automatic system?

There is no automated system to disqualify dolls if they've already made it into the fashion show. If they've made it in, a Mod has to disqualify them.

Interesting....
Yes, I try... when the theme is fairys, any other theme, and I won't enter. And yes, I vote according to theme. Actually I find it quite annoying when someone does not follow the theme.
