Raina:
"Maybe we could. Hopefully he won't suspect that we looked through his phone." I watched as the car changed lanes and took a right. Right into the lot of a huge mansion. "Should we go in?" I said parking behind a big bush. I could see him getting out of the car.
Lau:
”I say give him time? So as not to suspect us?”
Raina:
"But if we stay here and someone catches us wouldn't it be worse?"
Lau:
”True....I doubt his security guards are friendly...”
Raina:
"I'm going in." I said turning the car back on and driving down the pathway.
A guard stops me and he doesn't look very happy. "Can I help you?" He says in a deep voice.
"We're friends of Daniel. He missed out on his classes and we thought to give him the homework for tomorrow." I said.
"You may give it to me and I'll deliver it to him. No one can come here."
"I would but there are specific instructions about the homework that he has to know. Our teacher is pretty strict on how she wants things done."
"Just tell me and I let him know" He said exasperated.
"I could tell you but the way she described it is very confusing and it would just be easier to show it to him. Please? We won't take longer than necessary."
The guard sighed. "Let me see." He went inside the post and I could hear him talking to someone else. "Sir, there's a group of students here who say that you have some homework to catch up with. They insist on seeing you."
Lau:
I heard the guard mumble something before coming outside, ”I'll accompany you inside. Stay by my side...or else.”
Raina:
I grinned. "Alright!" I parked the car to the side and we all piled out, following the guard inside the huge mansion. "Piece of cake." I whispered to the others.
Bec:
The moment we step in the mansion, the scent of owl feathers and old books hit me. Habit makes me say "Ow." monotonously.
Raina:
"Shh" I said to Bec as we walked through he corridors with the guard.
Bec:
"You sh." I say back as the guard suddenly stops in front of an intricately carved door.
Lau:
We stepped into a grand room where we saw Daniel playing the piano. On seeing us step in, he stopped and looked up, ”If it isn't the noisy group again.”
Raina:
"I see your emergency was piano lessons?"
Daniel:
How typical. Always rushing to conclusions. All of them think they figured everything out, when they know absolutely nothing. ”And I see that I have no obligation to explain myself to you. Now, cut to the chase, shall we?”
Raina:
"You think we're all loud. Anyway. Lauren? You have it."
Lau:
I gave it to her since he was really getting on my nerves.
Raina:
"Umm thanks?" I turned to Daniel. "You left your phone on the desk after you left. Half the people in school know who you are and would be inclined to sell it. We thought to bring it back before that happened. Now that I think about it. Do you even need this?"
Bec:
"Ugh, of course he doesn't," I say, "He could just as easily build a new one."
I wrinkle my nose, gods this place reeked of owls and books.
"I'm surprised you're not dead yet."
Raina:
"Who, me? Or..." I looked at Daniel.
Daniel:
I folded my arms and asked with a poker face,” humor me, why is that?”
Bec:
I roll my eyes, "Oh please, don't pretend you don't know. This place reeks enough to tell me you've known for quite a while. So tell me, why aren't you dead?"
Raina:
"You win" I whisper to Lauren.
Daniel:
I saw the blonde smirk proudly after the other one whispered something to her. I looked at the black haired guy, who looked almost sleepy, "If you're more of those camp recruits, or whatever it is you want to call them, I'm afraid I am not coming to your pathetic ca..."
Lau:
He fell suddenly silence as the little boy from the pictures came downstairs calling him. One seeing us, he stood confused, but Daniel quickly said, "You can come in, kiddo. They're just here to give me my phone. After which, they will be leaving...immediately." With the last word, he was looking back at us so intensely I thought he will put our hair on fire with his gaze.
Raina:
"Yeah. After. I said putting the phone into my pocket. "We're not recruits. Camp's not all that bad though. Has it's ups and downs like everything. I'd prefer camp than school."

Lau:
The little kid looked at him confused, "We're going to camp? What camp?"
Daniel, who looked about ready to kill us on the spot, replied, "Oh...We're not going anywhere, kiddo." Turning to us, he said, "I made myself clear the first time. I. Am. Not. Going. To. Camp. Now, hand me the phone before I tell the bodyguards you robbed me."
Raina:
"Ha those guards? They look like noodles. We're not going to recruit you. We don't want to recruit you. Now that we know, we'd like to get to know you. So again. My name's Raina, this is Lauren, Bec, and Mika."
