My brother and his wife Lin invite me to China on February 19 for the Chinese New Year. This is a very important holiday in the sign of sheep wood.
I can not wait to discover the festive rituals and cultures of the country: the lantern festival, carnivals, the sound of firecrackers, large meals with family, houses decorated with images and traditional objects, temples and outfits. The festival lasts 15 days and Lin asked me to help decorate their huge house and garden for the occasion. She told me that red must be present in the decorations and doors because it is the lucky color.

A lot of the Asian items I have are more Japanese than Chinese. Will that matter in "Chinese New Year" decoration? I used my "wall of China" window, but not sure about some of the other items. I avoided the Japanese dolls and other obvious items, so just wondering how particular things will be. Thanks.
Let me discuss this with the other mods. I feel that if it is Asian themed then its fine. But let me make sure.
**Update:** It will be okay to use all Asian themed items just as long as you stay on the theme.
(They do not just have to be Japanese or Chinese items in general) But the more realistic the better!
