Hello everyone,
If you like to create your own clothing on OhMyDollz, this new feature is made for you!
Have you ever wanted the option to save an outfit without having to disassemble and reassemble it each time? To easily move an outfit you created from one room to another? To display your creations in your loft without other players disassembling them?
The sewing machine allows you to create personal outfits using several elements from your inventory!
All the “corplinkable” items (sticking to the doll) can be used by the machine. Simply create your outfit in a room, no matter which one, and then send it to the machine to sew the different elements together. You will then possess an unique item in your inventory!
To sew your clothing, you can either directly use the elements from your inventory, or copy them. Sewing the elements together means that they are lost in the process, while copying them allows to create your outfit without losing the elements you used. They will stay in your inventory.
Making an outfit needs time, the more elements are used, the longer the machine will need to sew them together.
Once the sewing is finished, you will have to choose a category to sort your creation, which will be moved to a new space in your inventory, specially created for this purpose!
You can then use the machine again. Only one creation at a time, you have to wait the end of the sewing process to start another outfit.
Express your creativity on OhMyDollz!
How the sewing machine works
What can you sew ?
Any “corplinkable” item (sticking to the doll) can be used. The creation has to be placed on a doll and all the items must stick to the her.
You can test this by moving the doll in the room using the arrows: if an item follows her, it will be taken into account for the sewing, if not it won’t be.
Creating an outfit is possible from any of the rooms you possess, as long as there is a doll. You can even make your creation in the attic, to hide it secret!
Creating an outfit in rooms like the Street or the Star Rental is thus impossible, since there are no dolls in them.
Beware: An outfit that has already been sewed can not be used again by the machine, so be careful not to forget any element before confirming your creation!
How to send your outfit to the sewing machine?
Go to the room where your outfit is.
To save and send your outfit to the sewing machine, you have two options:
– Click the new button, which is next to the saving icon in the rooms.
– Right click your outfit, a menu will appear where you can choose the option “Save and sew my creation”.
Note : If your outfit doesn’t need to be saved, you can also choose the option “Display the sewing machine”, which will make you land on the machine’s page.
My outfit is in the sewing machine, what to do next?
The machine shows you the “Sewing duration”: it reflects the time needed to finish the sewing process. This duration is based on the number of elements used for your creation.
You can choose between two ways of sewing:
– Sew : The elements from your inventory will be sewed together and become a single item. You will thus “lose” the used elements, which will no longer be single items in your inventory. This option is the cheapest.
– Copy : The items from your inventory will be copied before assembling the creation. This way you will keep the used elements in your inventory. You will have at the same time the created outfit and the elements used to make it! This option is slightly more expansive, but it allows you to keep the items you value the most.
Click the “Sew” or “Copy” button to start the machine!
Waiting takes too long, can’t we go faster ?
You can only make one creation at a time. When your machine is at work, you can no longer use it. You have to wait until the creation is finished and moved to your inventory.
If you do not wish to wait, you can decrease the waiting time using Fee’z. The price gets lower based on the remaining time.
My creation is finished, what to do next?
To finalize your creation, you have to choose the room you want to move it to.
You must also choose a category to sort it, as well as a color. These features will allow you to easily retrieve your creations in the inventory!
Click the “Retrieve” button to send your creation to the chosen room and inventory!
New inventory!
Creations aren’t considered as regular items, that’s why the inventory has been modified to display a specific tab!
The usual pink tab called “My things” contains all your standard items. The new blue tab called “My creations” contains all your personal creations.
This new inventory tab is used in the same way as the standard inventory.
Have fun with the sewing machine on OhMyDollz!
This sounds interesting. Can't wait to see what people come up with. I can think of two such outfits I will eventually "sew/copy".
Okay... trying to do this on my doll angelicadane. I've followed the directions but of course, it appears that nothing is happening. No indication of "how long" it will take. I know, first day... be patient...
To save and send your outfit to the sewing machine, you have two options:
– Click the new button, which is next to the saving icon in the rooms.
No added button yet and right clicking it doesn't work. Bug forum?

It up there for me actually. I was just playing around with it. Give it another try?
As mentioned in the article above, make sure you choose correctly between 'Sew' and 'Copy'. Sew makes the individual items you use go away and you only have the outfit. Copy allows you to keep the individual items you used to make the outfit.
I don't see the icon anywhere. It says it's next to the saving room icon, but it's not. So where is it, exactly?
Cool idea but wish they didn't charge to "save" an outfit. Multiple sites with dress up features let you save items together without losing that item or charging you. Just makes it easier to quickly load items to dress the doll. When I saw the survey go up, I knew it was another way to get people to buy feez for such a common feature lol
Though for anyone with spare change, it's a good addition to the game ^^
Does anyone know the cost for sewing and copying?

Are you saying that the icon is next to the "save" icon that shows up in the right hand corner of this screenshot?
If so, it's not there for me.

No idea since I and others seem to be not able to get it to work.
Right clicking your doll:

Yep. See the picture above?
The prices are:
$30 for sewing
$75 for copying
Which rooms are you ladies looking at? I know that this feature doesn't work in all rooms (listed above).

Maybe it only shows up for mods
I've tried it in my loft, in the attic... every room that your doll shows up. Now that I know the price, I won't bother trying anymore... that's TOO high.

One thing to try is your cookies. I had a problem this morning with my rooms and cleared my cookies then saw this.
It wasn't working for me so played around with some of the buttons
when you right click, the second option there says "Save and Sew my Creation". I clicked on that and the button shows up.

I did that too with three dolls and the button didn't show up. It's okay though since I'm not going to be using this option... too expensive, not worth it. I'd rather save up for any potential future quests.

Ok so :
1. The price it gives me for copying is 885 $ (that;s insane and very random)
2. After just going into the sewing setting WITHOUT actually sewing anything it tells me to wait 3 hours until I can see it again. This MUST be a bug right?
This feature is extremely disappointing
Later update :
1. It seems I was wrong about point 2, just had to wait like 30 seconds
2. The price for copying changes based on your items. I have no clue why or how but an outfit with JUST A LOT OF ITEMS (wings, layered wigs, dresses, skins and so on) is just 330 and an outfit with just dress, wig, shoes is 885... this is insane

Just my opinion but this isn't really worth it.
Sewing is always $30 as I've tested- but copying is super expensive.
If you make an outfit and want to copy it, I've seen it some of my most basic outfits go over 100$. For an outfit like this one:
This outfit was the one I got 2nd place with during the special OMD Fashion Show, so it was slightly more complex compared to my other outfits but still relatively simple, and it ended up going up to 272$ just to copy it. Technically the price altogether soars even higher than what it would cost to do a quest. I can imagine this is more expensive for outfits which are extremely complex and customised. Indeed, this is true- some of my other dolls reached an insane $400+ for one outfit to be copied.
^ This is what happened when I tested it on a doll who wore non-collector items (since I thought it would be cheaper) and the price to copy+sew was still high. Plus these are the newbie account items. I'm pretty sure those items can go cheaper if you sew once and then buy the items manually in the shop...
So my conclusion is that: Whilst this is a useful new feature for some, it may be better not to sew at all as it's too expensive.
Edit: There is a little bug I've been noticing with this feature too. For lip makeup the bottom part of the lip always seems to get cut off (see the first screenshot).

Okay, clearing my cookies/cache worked. Wow, it really is expensive to copy the outfit so you keep the elements used. I might want to use this option one day, but only on a rich doll and only if I really like the outfit.
I can see a lot of the French players using this, since they go to so much trouble (devotion?) in creating their outfits for the fashion shows.
This is the outfit I would love to copy and save for my Glinda, it costs 170, not too bad if she were really rich. It's about as much as a dress from the Luxury store:

I decided to try this outfit. It would have been $275 to copy it. Fortunatelly I had some Item Multipliers so I copied my collector items since I figured I could buy the rest the next time there is a sale.
I'm still waiting for it to finish(6 hours). I tried the speed up option for feez, but it gave an error message. When all is said and done however this will almost be like having a new figure.
OMG Tahlenwing, I'm in loooove!!!
Does it work correctly for you? When I try to save created item I get an error:
I tried adding it to different rooms, categories and select different colors but it is still failing :pleur:

Decided to compare rooms, my most complex outfit is the second cheapest. What are these prices even based on?!
Hard to read, but left to right, top to bottom:
1. 334 8h
2. 87 2h 30m
3. 565 5h
4. 728 4h 30m

How many of those items are collector items? I'm thinking that has someting to do with the price. In the past when they made collector items available for purchase they were VERY expensive.

Looks like the intermittent bugs are not on our version only. Will keep an eye on them.
That button finally showed up for me (without clearing any cookies). Maybe one day I'll try it out. I'll give them time to get the kinks worked out. (I still have 2 outfits that I'd do this for)
I really like the idea of sweing machine but copying the outfits is extremely expensive!!! Can't they reconsider changing the price for that? Like max 100 OMD? None of us is SO rich to pay over 200 OMD for copy+sew the new outfit of our desire. Some of us barely manage to colect enough OMD from quest to quest! If the daily salary would be like dobule or triple of what every of us have, than of course we could pay such hilarious prices for copy+sew.
Would be grateful for pasing our coments to the game masters.

Ferrik is a company. As all companies need money to survive they probalvy will not change the prices. Such high prices causes people to buy Fee'z, thus Ferrik makes money and can survive. If Ferrik didn't make money then this game will have to be shut down for the 2nd time.
Well I mean the thing they could do is have the price of each item in the created outfit and in the case of collector Items makea standard price (let's just say 15$$)
so like this is a combination of:
which is 1$$$
which is a collector's so 15$$$
so together it would be 16$$$ to 'copy' instead of this random price:
---
That was a two piece example but I'm sure people want to make elaborate outfits. So here's this one I have:
which consists of:
Price: it's from Dollz Story so I'm going to estimate 7$$$
Price: 7$$$
Price: 3$$$
Price: 5$$$
Price: 4$$$
Price: 5$$$
Price: 5$$$
From Playa so I'm going to estimate 5$$$
Price: 15$$$
Price 15$$$
(x2) Price: 13$$$
Price: 15$$$
(x2) Price: 5$$$
Price: 3$$$
Price 5$$$
Making the Total: 130$$$ (If I did my math right)
Plus let's say 10$$$ extra for the Copy option
GRAND TOTAL: 140$$$
I think that's a more understandable price than the ones randomly generated...
