I don't know about anybody else, but I am definitely not a fan of this year's Christmas wreath. To me it is not very festive.

I like it too, kind of traditional old world home made .....instead of commercialized .

After two days it's a little hard to decide what I like and don't like.  I'm actually a bit torn because the two items so far each have something I strongly feel for and against.

For the first - Pro: I really, really like the picture for the calender quite a bit. Con: It's too small to really make out, and that is harder being all similar colors. The bigger negative is that it looks like it has the numbers on the mini-pic, so we really get less of it.

For the Wreath - Pro: I find it overall appealing. The asymetrical shape isn't taken to far to make it look like a crescent moon shape or teardrop shape. Con: The decor to show it off is a little limited. A dark background makes the wreath part hard to discern, conversely a too light background makes the lights/wheat-colored items indistinct.
-- I can't tell if there are supposed to be lights as well as leaves. I would find it interesting however if there were lights that then the wreath could be animated to twinkle or have changing colors



I'm also of two minds about the whole rustic/home-made vs commercial subject . Especially since there are a lot of commercial products made to look 'home-made'.  I know several local home decor/craft stores that could put that sort of wreath together. My preference has always been for craftsmanship/artisanship skills, followed closely by environmentalism/durability (not filling landfills,etc).

I'm rambling again, and wanting to write about quality and Christmas ornaments, and cleaning out my Grandmothers house >.<  Soooo not the place for that!

Not for me, but I don't have any alts here, so that may be a factor.  Do you have the item in your inventory/'My Things'? And have you tried all the normal things, like refreshing your browser, clearing your cache, and all of that (I'm presuming yes, btw)?


I'm pretty sure there will be NO completion gift - there wasn't last year, and the year before there wasn't supposed to be (but it got mentioned by mistake.) So if you have the gifts I wouldn't worry. If the gifts are gone, submit a ticket?

I'm a little curious if you could get a duplicate item by opening the door - Which WOULD be an exploit that should be reported - but a repeat of the first item would not be my pick to test that on


HAS ANYONE ELSE noticed an issue bringing up the advent calendar if you have a different Flash Game running elsewhere? Not a Feerik one, but from a different company. The calendar wont load for me if I have any games from Flowplay logged in.




Both calender and calendar clear the spell check, and right now I can't recall which is correct (American) English

Thank you and n0regrets for mentioning that the paper doesn't stay on. I've been so naughty and not decorating my rooms >_< so they are a mess and I don't know these things. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

(Maybe we move too quickly and the paper gives us a paper cut so we drop it ??? )


As for purple - off the top of my head I think of advent candles and royalty. The whole royalty thing coming in to the Nativity story with the three Kings/Wisemen, and the acknowledgement of Christ being above them, given how a number of scriptures and related material refer to God as Lord.

Even disregarding the religious aspects - purple has been one of the most expensive and rare types of dyes before the industrial revolution, so just through cost it has been restricted to royalty and the very wealthy. You can make your own interpretation of what it means in terms of the holidays from there ^_^

(And as for colors not being Christmasy - as lovely as they are I think that every time I see the trees decorated in peacocks and their colors. What do any colors real mean beyond what we wish them to mean?)

My favorite gifts are ones that not only make great seasonal decorations, but also year-round ones. If the wrapping paper were super Christmasy, it'd only make sense to use it once a year. But since it's not, it can easily be used for other things, like in a birthday party scene. You could also pretend it's a roll of cloth and maybe use it as an accessory (or decoration if you cover the thumb cutout) for a fashion/costume designer at work kind of thing.

I just opened the gift for today (12/15/14), it is the white hat with the red bow on the right side and realized that it is the same hat we got last year! Is this suppose to be a bug, does anyone know?

oh darn I hope we aren't getting duplicates of last years items this year. You'd think it would be a matching hair accessory for the black lace outfit.

@ 30stmxfan, yes we are getting 6 more duplicates from last year, on the 1st day of the calendar, there was a bug where all the gifts were open. I thought it would be changed as the days go by but I'm beginning to doubt it. Tomorrows gift is new, it's a red & white jacket & the day after that is a repeat. The repeats remaining are a red shoe, glove & dress, black & white bag etc. Hopefully they'll change it. I want to put the (bug) picture here but Feerik might get upset.
