I've been in a few situations where a screenshot could come in handy. Could someone tell me how to take one?
Questions
1.) Is it for a certain kind of computer? (I have a mac)
2.) Is it something I download?
3.) My computer is 4 years old, would it work?
Please tell me what you can!

Answers:
1.) A screenshot can be done on PC or Mac.
2.) No downloading required, unless you don't have a Art/Paint program on your Mac already.
3.) With a Mac, ALL things are possible.
--------------------------------------------------------------
-How to take a screenshot with an Mac-
Step 1: Press and Hold Ctrl+Apple Key+ Shift + 3
Note: The step above will take screenshot of your screen, then it will copy to a clipboard. That will allow you to paste in any other program.
Step 2: You can now paste and edit the screenshot in the program of your choice.
Step 3: Upload your screenshot to an free image hosting site. For Example: Tiny Pic or Photobucket.
Thanks for your help, but it didn't work. Is there another way I should try?
In order to figure out what didn't work, icefoxes, could you please explain exactly what you did while trying to take a screenshot (and please don't just say, "I did what was listed above" or similar.) Describe in detail what steps you took.
The more information we have, the better we can help you. :)
It could just be that you missed a step or did a step incorrectly.
May I know how to take a screenshot with an Hp laptop?
With a Windows computer:
Press Prnt Scrn (Print Screen)
Then go to paint and press ctrl + v
OR
You can install screen capture on google chrome if you have it.
Thanks Angel!
I think the problem is my computer isn't completely a mac. It's an Inspiron Mini from Dell that works like a Mac. (And I did exactly what princesstoya said, the only thing different is I used Alt instead of the Apple key because it's a Dell laptop and it doesn't have that but they're the same key I believe. I think I'll try the Windows way because I have a key with their symbol. NEVER MIND! :D I googled it (this is Mac version)
For the whole screen hold shift + apple key + 3
For section of screen hold shift + apple key + 4 and select the area you wish to capture.
The screenshot will appear on your desktop!

what about a samsung computer? i have n\no idea about the apple button or the print screen.....
I need your help! Someone just asked me for my PA$$WORD and Fairykisses want to have a sreenshot of the message! And my computer is the "HP" computer, I found the "Prt Scr" But when I click it nothing happens!
You then need to paste that screenshot somewhere, using CTRL-V. The program Paint that came with your computer would be a good place to paste it; then, you can save the image, in order to either e-mail it or upload it to a site like Photobucket or ImageShack (depending upon how Fairykisses would like you to send her the screenshot).
