So I don't know how many people know this, but I photography is my passion, what I want to do in life. The only way for this to happen is if I get my work out there. My nearest library is having a photography thing where they show off amature and professional photography work. Prizes and everything are handed out, and hundred people get to see your work.
I'm thinking about doing it, but I'm scared to death:
1) Never ever gone up with professionals like this before
2) Self esteem telling me my work isn't good enough
3) What pictures I should send in.
I'm asking everyone's advice to what I should do.. You can see some of my photos in the "Created by You" section, or I can send you my deviantart if you would like to see more. All I'm asking if you guys think I should do it or not, and if you think I should which ones are the overall best in your opinion. You all probably thinking "This is no big deal..." well... For a shy girl who self confidence is not great this is like... Taking a test to get into huge school.
Thanks for your time (:
I think you should totally join! You're amazing and this is a great opportunity! And I think it'll be good for your self-esteem as well. How many pictures can you send in?
First I know how you feel. My self-asteam is not good. I was scared to ask my teacher to help me set up n portfolio for illustrastions. The students she wants to do illustrations is really good but I suck it up and asked her. Now I just need tot draw 18 storyboards and I got it.
I've seen your photography and I can tell you, you got talent. Your pictures is amazing. I say you should go for it. Remember those photographiers was just like you in the beginning and they fought to get where they are today. Never give up on your dream and go for it.
I'd say just have fun and enjoy what you do. Think of this as the beginning of an adventure. Look to gain experience and ideas, rather than just winning. Perhaps you could even talk to some of these other photographers for any advice and how to go further with your career.
Thanks everyone (: I wish I could just act like it was no big deal though
