My counselor e-mailed me back telling me I can't take Honors English 3. That leaves me with taking a regular, was, crappy students English 3 class (where I can have friends) or the AP (advanced placement) English 3 class (no friends, better for college). I don't know which to take....
On top of that, I'm already taking Honors Pre-Calculus, AP Chemistry, Human Body Systems, US History, Spanish 3, Gym, and Culinary Arts (that's my schedule all year...mind you, mine is very different.) I also have a year long project that I'll have to do for the Biomedical Academy.
Can I get some opinions for which English to take?
High school Junior? Me too.
I'd say go for AP English. You can hang with your friends anytime but it would be a waste to pick regular English over AP English because there are friends in that class.
I'm not even sure if my friends would even be in it. And they're not really friends....just people I can talk and relate with. I was worried because I have a lot of classes and with some being advanced, it'd add stress but I like the teacher teaching the AP...
Do you think you can handle another AP? There are so many people to bite off more than they can chew when it comes to picking out their courses and their grades are terrible because they can't keep up with everything.
I was in regular Algebra 2 last year, and passed the first semester with a B+ and the next semester with an A. Someone I know that was very AP-savvy was in Algebra 2 Honors and ended up with a D in her midterms, which drastically damaged her semester grade. So just think about what you can handle and if it would be too much of a workload.
I'm taking AP English next year. I think it's a better class than regular. And future benifits are there too.
But you should also look at the teacher. There are classes at my school that people take just so they can be with the teacher.
@Bloodyemos I think you should choose the class without your friends but that's good for College. You can still hang out with your friends during lunch or during the breaks, if you have some. You guys may not always be together during class anymore, but it will help you value your time more. You guys will do more and maybe be nicer, and perhaps get a lot more done in a short period of time since you don't have much of it. That's just my opinion. Hope this helped.
Well, like I said, they aren't my friends. They're just people I can talk to. I don't have friends, exactly.
I am taking the regular English because it is easier on me next year. I already have enough hard classes plus an online class that I'll have to take.
