Japanese! :D

I've always wanted to learn Japanese, and yesterday my mom set me up with Mango Languages on her ipad. ^.^ I took the first couple of lessons on it and only know a few words so far, but I'm so excited! I just hope it doesn't get too hard though... I think I'll go do the next lesson... or 2... or all of them...

SO LUCKY!! omg!!
My school offers Japanese and my friends take it. I wanted to too cuz they took out sign language but it would've messed up my schedule terribly.

Re: Japanese! :D

I'm trying to learn Japanese as well. It gets difficult when the sentences get longer and longer, but I'm determined to figure is out! I'm learning it from audio books (Also from anime, anime has taught me 98% of it.)

Re: Japanese! :D

Keep doing what your doing. Learning a new language is a really awesome experience and you'll feel really proud of yourself when you start understanding and communicating in that language.

For all of you that want to learn a new language: You do NOT need a language class to learn a new language.

I've been learning German for about 3-4 years now and all I've needed was the internet, and occasionally access to a bookstore with workbooks and language dictionaries.

I just recently applied for an exchange student program and I'll hopefully be in Germany next year; but any country is fine.

Also, if you want to learn Japanese, don't depend on anime. A lot of people I know who are learning Japanese depend on anime but it doesn't help for every day situations. I watch German soccer, but if I depended on German soccer to help me with German, I'd talk like an announcer rather than a regular person. You really do NOT want to sound like "anime" if you speak Japanese with someone.

Re: Japanese! :D

i'm taking japanese classes on saturday mornings.
the most annoying part are the kanji.(1945 of them if i'm not wrong)
there are thousands of kanji but only less than 2000 are actualy needed for you to know. the rest of them will have an indication of how they're pronunciated(in hiragana)

if you are determined to learn japanese, it gets kind of easy...
specialy if you have an ease to learn languages.

good luck with this and i hope Mango Languages teaches you well! good

What is this app?!

I know basic words, sentences and letters, but I do want to be fluent in it as I want to be a translator...

Mmmm. It gets frustrating when a word can mean different things.
