Sometimes it is a happy coincidence that helps us discover the greatest treasures ...
Something like this just happens to our Doll, when she discovers the diary of her ancestor while cleaning the attic. She begins to read and discovers the exciting life story of her great-great-grandmother.
In this adventure you can win these exclusive gifts:
- the room Retro (or its extension, if you already have the room)
- the fantastic opportunity to unlock ALL temporary stores for 30 days (includes the Dollz-Story Store), starting when you finish the adventure!
Gradually, as you progress in the quest, the better the gifts will be!
As always, you'll need to answer difficult questions to win the great bonus gifts!
Discover the different color variations of the requested items in the
Victorian Shop which remains open until March 8.
You have time until Wednesday, March 4th at 3PM (french time) to end the adventure!
Let's go on a shopping tour on OhMyDollz!
This quest is very very very beautiful. I mean look at the quality of the objects and the shading of the clothes! I think this is actually one of the best looking quests we've seen in a while.
I know my German doll would die for this, so gonna do it there. hmmmm....wonder if any of my English OMD dolls who would like this have enough money. Gonna go see!
I'm wondering if this story is based on Emile Zola's The Ladies Paradise. I just finished watching the BBC production based upon the book and really enjoyed it.
I'm eager to see someone post the story.
Anyone read the book?
I think it is, historygeek! They ask about it in the quest.
Also rheasilvia is posting the full guide including the story under Dollz Discussions.
Answers!
1. Anne Frank
2. Zola
3. A structure designed to support a dress
4. A pay rise
5. Matcha
6. Les galeries Lafayette
7. Mr Selfridge
Total cost is 260 $$$
I'm actually not able to finish the quest right now 'cause my doll doesn't have enough $$$. Didn't expect it to be so expensive. But it is a lovely quest and the gifts are truly beautiful. Wish my main wasn't so broke :(
Same here, rheasilvia! I did it on an my alt lolatrendsetter but haven't done anything with the items or room yet. There were a few items that I wanted on my main but she was broke.
I will buy a few things from the store though on several accounts.
I'm pretty happy about this quest. The Retro Room is one of the 'older' ones that I was lacking, plus the items are very, very nice! And... I've just finished the second season of a series on Netflix called "The Paradise" which is based on a 'Department Store' somewhere in England during this time period. (see photo below)
If you have Netflix, watch that show to get an idea of how the store in that show is set up.

Is the show & book the one I have a picture of?

Thanks for answering my question.
The picture Sierradane has posted is from the show that is based on Zola's book.
I watched the series a few weeks ago. Little upset that it was so short but that usually seems to be the way with BBC productions.
Can't wait to see on which account I will be doing this quest!
ohmigosh! i died and went to heaven, i can't believe this quest is one we actually get! i've been waiting for a quest like this. what exactly is the cost to do this quest? is it 260? my main is sadly broke but i believe that i have an alt with a good enough amount.
YUp $260 is the total. The full guide (again thanks to rheasilvia!):http://us.ohmydollz.com/board/viewtopic … 07#p298007

question: do you have to keep the room and objects all in black and white? i like the colors so much, it seems like a waste if you can't keep it in color...
This is absolutely perfect! The Retro Room was at the top of my "Most Wanted" list and the items are to die for! I started watching "The Paradise" on Netflix a few weeks ago and haven't finished the first season yet but I love the show so far.

Any items that are sent to the Retro room (and your doll) will appear in black and white in that room. The items will appear in full color in any other room (unless they are sent to another room with special effects, e.g., the Submarine room, don't know if there are any others). I believe you cannot make the Retro room appear in full color. I don't have it so I can't verify but I've never seen one in color.
Hooray for PBS!
And Masterpiece Theater (via PBS)
--'Course neither The Paradise, nor Mr. Selfridge are available for free at the moment :( Since both relate to period department stores, I'd would not be surprised if Feerik mashed the two together for this quest. (If you're interested Downton Abbey and Grantchester episodes are available so not complaining too much ^_^)
And bleh, never have I been so tempted to partially do a quest I can't finish before.
I know last week was a 'replay' quest, and they did that just after the Valentine/BFF quest, but I do wish they had spaced the Walker Quest on the normal schedule. I get that as a replay it's not our normal quest, but it just feels, i don't know- weird? uncomfortable? crowded? something.
Now just need to go calculate if earning enough Feez to waste on $$$ will be enough by the end of the week for me
My doll ROSADANE is in love with this quest too!
...
I'm so upset...
what
I love clothes from this period!! All the gifts are amazing but I'm short so much. There's no way I'll be able to get 750 Feez in less than a week sad I have one doll that needs this quest.
I hope they do a replay of this later in the year
So, one of my alts did this entire quest just to get chocobo from Tales shop. Don't get me wrong, I'm in love with this quest, it's just that she can find use for dark furniture and little else. On the other hand, three of my other dolls went broke today cause these gifts were so awesome. I don't think I was this excited for any quest since last years St. Patrick's one.
I want to do this quest so bad but, alas I am short on money and no way will I make enough before the quest end. And I so love the furniture. I'm tempted to do part of the quest but then again I can save that money for the next quest. I'm just hoping they replay this quest again in the future. I really wanted the retro room too. I just can't believe how expensive it is. Bout time you finish the quest you won't get to enjoy shopping at the temporary shops.
The replay quest last week with the wedding room ended and the next day this one started!!! What happened to having at least a week between quests so we can save up. Very bad planning Feerik-shame on you! Still OMD is my favorite game!
Well, now, I was wondering if they'd ever re-visit the Retro Room. Glad to see that they are. As that is one of the rooms I own, I will be doing this quest for the extension. It is pricey, though.

I like the colors of everything as well. One of the things I like about the Retro Room and what makes it unique is its black and white filter. At the same time, I sometimes wish you could turn that filter off.
I don't really like the Retro Room, but I just had to do this quest for one of my dolls. The good thing about the room, however, is that you can throw almost anything into the room and it all matches! I have so many pieces of furniture that don't match, or they have an ugly combination of colors, so a room that turns everything black and white works.
You know, if the site is wondering about different background skins they can use for the Retro Room, a Sepia one would be good.
