gimp
if i download gimp and is doesn't show the publisher, is it going to bring virus of problems to my computer? also do i need a anti-virus to download it, or still with out anti-virus, i can download it with no problem and virus (is it going to make the computer slow)?

It depends on how fast it is compatible with your computer. But as far as I know, it doesn't have any viruses on it.
Just make sure to download it from the GIMP website and the right version for your computer. It's free, and it works fine for me.

so my computer is going to be safe even though i don't have anti-virus? there is something else coming that you need to download, i think GTK or some hting like that, it is part of the download?

I don't think you need to download GTK. But when I downloaded it, the link to download it sent me to a GTK think. I possibly believe that all you need to do is click on the download button. I used it before but haven't done any projects on it.

There's no toolbar or anything else that ones with GIMP.
I think when you download GIMP it also downloads the GTK for it to work.
If you're worried, then feel free to download an anti-virus. However, as for as I know, there's no toolbar .

I do. It's already pre-installed to the computer I use. If you worried, then you can get an anti-virus program.
However, I am 100% sure GIMP doesn't have any virus ridden bugs.

For the publisher, I think it does show. Just make sure to download it from the official GIMP site. I've downloaded GIMP yesterday, no bugs no viruses.
For the antivirus, I'm not sure. You might want to check Google for it.

I don't really see how anti virus and GIMP have to do anything together. Is it that you're reluctant because you think it will give you a virus?
Honestly, if you're unsure or hesitant about it, then I recommend you not download it.
But I reassure you that it has no virus or bugs on it.

Click on GIMP - Downloads
Then click "download gimp 2.6.11". There are other versions for Macs.
It will automatically download.
Once you're done your download, click on the program.
Then it should give you the rest of the instructions further on.
